Damage from the Scolytus genus of Bark Beetle on an old Elm stump local to where I live, the fungus carried by these little blighters decimated the Elm population in the UK, to the extent that at very nearly 30 years of age I have NEVER seen a fully mature specimen, even when working in the tree surgery and forestry stage of my career.
