The little trick-or-treater decides it best to skip the haunted house this year…
Happy Halloween, my friends!
Keep playing.
Keep pushing boundaries.
Keep shining bright!
Chapter Three
The king of the wild things meets the storyteller...
I was inspired to try something different and create a series of linked images which reveal a larger narrative, a short picture book, if you will. I hope you have as much fun exploring the story as I had in creating it! This is the third image from the series.
Keep playing, experimenting, and having fun, my friends.
And keep shining so bright!
Apparently caught up in the boobie trap! Love these two stores and their colourful exteriors.
Happy Wednesday all!!
Days of warm, rainy weather and the woodland floor is alive with new Spring life! Ferns unfurling up from last year's fallen leaves with yellow Trout Lily stars in the background. From our walk earlier this morning. 😊🌿
Wild Lupines dedicated to Stefano Rugolo. My way to say thank you for your inspiration, dedicating an image that reminds me of his work. View his work here, www.flickr.com/photos/stefanorugolo/

Hush-a-bye
Don't you cry.
Go to sleep my little baby.
When you wake
You shall have
All the pretty little ponies.
In your bed

Dance and prance
for little baby.
Can you see the little ponies
Dance before your eyes?
All the pretty little ponies
Will be there when you arise.
Hush-a-bye
Don't you cry.
Go to sleep my little baby.
When you wake
You shall have
All the pretty little ponies.
Traditional lullaby, as sung by:
I've sung this, my favorite lullaby, to babies for decades. I still sing it to my grandson who is now 2-years old. I sing it over and over until he's asleep. In 1987 I composed a piano miniature piece - a little waltz based on the melody. The song always touches me deeply, whether I'm singing, playing or hearing it. Kenny Loggins does a wonderful rendition. I hope you like it even half as much as I do. ❤
We are blessed in our virtual world with many outrageously talented creators of content. The tiny plush pony avatar I'm wearing is by the people of Water Horse, and this one and many are available at the Where the Wild Things Are Summer Gacha event. I have two of the full size Water Horse avatars also, and have spent months galloping. I've never felt freer.
Also - the cute bear is by BoOgeRs, the bonsai by Cheeky Pea, and pieces from iBi 8F8's Cloudland set.

"And Max, the king of all wild things, was lonely and wanted to be where someone loved him best of all.”
~from the book "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak
A repost of a photo I had done months ago for oOo Studio for Stumblebum. Heard the sad news today of Mr. Sendak's passing. :(

I took this out the kitchen window. I do enjoy the area where the birds feed. I was so happy to see the Baltimore Orioles back.
Smile on Saturday: Portray a Movie
The classic children's book "Where The Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak was made into a movie of the same name in 2009. We loved the music by "Karen O and the Kids" so much that we went out and bought the CD straight away.
This is Max from the book, a toy from my Early Childhood Centre where I teach, and Maxi, a toy "Wild Thing" I bought for my husband many years ago. He kindly lets me take him to work sometimes :)) They're having a "Wild Rumpus" in our garden.
I get plenty of smiles as I walk to wok with Maxi on my arm :))

A while back while shooting at Linda Vista Hospital I was able to hook up with with photographer Lauren Randolph. I had a random idea for a shot and oddly enough she was into it too. Her expressions totally made these shots. Jump over to the blog for the lighting diagram and couple shot.

The funny thing is that parents recognized who she was right away when we walked into the streets. "Look!, Where the Wild Things Are!"
