They say that life is like a ferris wheel with lots of ups and downs, so you have to learn to enjoy the ride. Photo taken in Coquitlam, B.C.
At Bembridge Windmill on the Isle of Wight.
I love the marks of use on this wheel, as well as the odd woodworm holes. Clearly a long and well used piece of equipment.

Starling murmuration and the Brighton Wheel. To prevent the lens from being thrown out of focus by objects in the background, I set the AI Servo Sensitivity custom function to "Slow". Objects in the background are treated as an obstruction and therefore ignored.
The War Eagle Mill was built in 1832 by Sylvanus and Catherine Blackburn as the closest mill to grind their corn being located in Richland, 25 miles away.
In 1848, a heavy rainy season flooded the entire valley, and the mill was pushed into the river, washed downstream, and was totally destroyed. When the water receded, Sylvanus and Catherine rebuilt the mill and expanded the structure to mill lumber in addition to milling grain.
War Eagle Mill is the only working mill in Arkansas, and it is still powered by an eighteen-foot cypress waterwheel. It is believed it to be the only undershot water wheel currently in operation in the United States.

The Falkirk Wheel is a rotating boat lift in central Scotland, connecting the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal and open-end in 2002
In looking for some windows with which to honor Wednesday, I came across the Courthouse built 1901 in Wheeler County. This county is Oregon's least populous county with 1,381 residents in 2013, a decline from it's peak of 3,313 in 1950. Wheeler County contains 1,713 square miles; the county seat is Fossil. The area is internationally known for it's fossils.
Happy Window Wednesday!
We stopped for lunch at this lovely spot about 2 hours north of Gympie. I think there is something charming about old rusting machinery.
Two older autumn photos for today, both the small boulders seen in an autumn forest scene. Seen at Wheeler's Maple Sugar Camp, McDonalds Corners.

The county fair fireworks show was not very long. On this night, the Ferris wheel was loading passengers and not moving when the fireworks began. Then I got lucky. Yea for movement!
