In this house i lived as child and had to go with horse drawn carriage to my ground school in Werfen 7 kilometers.
I discovered this symbolic, rare and strictly protected mountain flower while climbing a via ferrata on the south face of the Tennengebirge.

Last Thursday at 6 am just before sunrise above the "Saarschleife" (a river bend). Only for a few minutes, the fog broke up a bit to get a look at the river.

Letzten Donnerstag um 6 Uhr kurz vor Sonnenaufgang oberhalb der Saarschleife. Nur für wenige Minuten löste sich der Nebel etwas auf um einen Blick auf den Fluß werfen zu können.

This castle is just outside of Salzburg Austria located in the small town of Werfen... unfortunately we were not able to visit due to time constraints ...the best view I could get as we drove up the steep winding road to get our tickets for the Ice cave...
We here in Georgia have a mandatory request for those living on the barrier Islands to evacuate due to the hurricane heading our way and it seems to be increasing in strength as of this posting to a category 4....scary...please keep us all in your prayers and thoughts here along the east coast of the United States and those of my Flickr friends in harms way...and pray we are able to return once again to family and little devastation and also flickr...stay blessed one and all...I will visit your streams I hope soon...

Im Südosten des US-Bundesstaates Utah, nicht weit entfernt von Monument Valley. Vom Aussichtspunkt kann man einen Blick auf den San Juan River werfen, der sich im Verlauf von Millionen Jahren inzwischen gut 300 m tief gegraben hat.
In southeastern Utah, not far from Monument Valley. From the vantage point you can see the San Juan River, which has dug its way down 1,000 feet over millions of years.
Here its is standing, in the middle of the forest, mt. Falkenstein (falcon stone). It’s a very impressive sandstone rock almost 100 meters high near the town Bad Schandau in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. There used to be a viewpoint on top of it in the 14th century. Maybe this is, where the name is coming from. Its position is taking a lot of the attention the Falkenstein would deserve, because its standing next to a much larger rock formation, mt. Schrammsteine. But in my opinion its mt. Falkenstein that makes this impressive panorama complete. You take a look on it in my gallery and can make your own decision.
Da steht er da, allein mitten im Wald, der Falkenstein. Es ist sehr imposanter Sandsteinfelsen fast 100 Meter hoch, in der Nähe von Bad Schandau im Elbsandsteingebirge, Im 14. Jahrundert befand sich hier oben ein Aussichtspunkt. Daher kommt vielleicht der Name. Seine Lage nimmt ihm viel von der Aufmerksamkeit, die er verdienen würde, denn er steht direkt neben einer noch viel größeren Felsformation, den Schrammsteinen. Doch ich finde, erst der Falkenstein, macht dieses beeindruckende Panorama vollständig. In meiner Galerie könnt Ihr gern einen Blick drauf werfen und Euch eine eigene Meinung bilden.

If you hike through the Allgäu mountains, you will be accompanied by a special kind of music the whole time. It is the sound of the bells that the cows wear around their necks.
Since there are bells of different sizes and therefore different pitches, a very complex melody is created here, which admittedly is often not very harmonious.
The cows on the pastures belong to the Allgäu like the mountains and the lakes. That's why, as a photographer, you can't avoid engaging with them (especially when they pose like this one). I also managed to take a few photos that I really like.
You can therefore assume that you will see one or the other of these gentle contemporaries here from time to time.
Wandert man durch die Allgäuer Berge wird man die ganze Zeit von einer besonderen Musik begleitet. Es ist der Klang der Glocken, den die Kühe hier um den Hals tragen.
Da es Glocken in verschiedenen Größen und somit auch unterschiedlichen Tonlagen gibt, ensteht hier eine sehr vielschichtige Melodie, die zugegeben häufig nicht sehr harmonisch ist.
Die Kühe auf den Weiden gehören zum Allgäu wie die Berge und die Seen. Darum kommt man als Fotograf nicht daran vorbei, sich mit Ihnen auch auseinander zu setzen (vor allem wenn sie sich so in Pose werfen wie die hier). Dabei sind mir auch ein paar Fotos gelungen, die mir sehr gefallen.
Ihr könnt also davon ausgehen, dass ihr hier von Zeit zu Zeit den ein oder anderen dieser sanften Zeitgenossen zu sehen bekommt.

Simply done with the left. Mainly anyway. And I didn't have to use scissors for this, because they are difficult for left-handers. Just as many tools are not necessarily suitable to be used with left-hand use. Have you ever used a beveled spatula with your left hand? We are in the minority, but anyone who does everything with the left can understand it and may have noticed that the cup handle and spoon are oriented to the left here ... It was also always a big challenge for me, for example, throwing the sling ball or the shot put correctly – I always had to do everything the other way around. But in the high jump (the other way around) I was very good. Well – the Olympic Games are now over ;-) And I have arranged myself quite passably over the years, I don't want to complain ;-) Oh yes, and by the way ... this view from above shows my morning coffee with milk and a porridge-oatmeal-blueberry-maple-syrup-creation, topped with the rest of the milk foam from the coffee ;-) Very tasty.

Einfach mit links gemacht. Jedenfalls hauptsächlich. Und ich musste dafür keine Schere benutzen, die ist nämlich schwierig für Linkshänder. So wie viele Werkzeuge nicht unbedingt geeignet sind, um sie mit links zu verwenden. Habt Ihr schon einmal einen abgeschrägten Bratenwender mit links benutzt? Wir sind in der Minderheit, aber wer alles mit links macht, kann es nachvollziehen und hat vielleicht bemerkt, dass der Tassenhenkel und der Löffel hier links orientiert sind ... Auch war es für mich immer eine große Herausforderungen, z. B. beim Schleuderballwerfen oder Kugelstoßen richtig zu werfen – ich musste immer alles anders herum machen. Aber im Hochsprung (anders herum) war ich sehr gut. Nun – die Olympischen Spiele sind ja nun auch wieder vorbei ;-) Und ich habe mich über die vielen Jahre ganz passabel arrangiert, ich will nicht meckern ;-) Ach ja und übrigens – diese Ansicht von oben zeigt meinen morgentlichen Milchkaffee und eine Porridge-Haferflocken-Heidelbeer-Ahornsirup-Kreation, getoppt mit dem Rest des Milchschaums vom Kaffee ;-) Ganz lecker.

Goosenecks State Park is a state park in southeastern Utah, not far from Mexican Hat and Monument Valley. From the vantage point (which is located at an altitude of about 1500 m) you can see the San Juan River, which has dug a good 300 m deep over the course of millions of years. The river meanders back and forth for 8km, covering just 1.6km as the crow flies.
I have been to this place twice, first time with my brother and second time with two friends. Similar to Horseshoe Bend, this is more of a viewpoint - a National Park Light so to speak...
So far I had almost exclusively seen wide-angle photos with no or a fairly boring foreground (there isn't really anything there apart from a bare rock edge)...so I deliberately included this wall. For this panorama picture I put together twelve 18mm portrait format photos. This would not have been possible without my nodal point adapter with this foreground. I hope you enjoy it.

Der Goosenecks State Park ist ein State Park im Südosten des US-Bundesstaates Utah, nicht weit entfernt von Mexican Hat und dem Monument Valley. Vom Aussichtspunkt (welcher sich in ca. 1500 m Höhe befindet) kann man einen Blick auf den San Juan River werfen, der sich im Verlauf von Millionen Jahren inzwischen gut 300 m tief gegraben hat. Der Fluss windet sich auf einer Länge von 8 km vor und zurück und legt dabei gerade einmal eine Luftlinie von 1,6 km zurück.
Ich war zweimal an diesem Ort, beim ersten Mal mit meinem Bruder und beim zweiten Mal mit zwei Freunden. Ähnlich wie beim Horseshoe Bend halt es sich hierbei mehr um einen Aussichtspunkt - sozusagen ein National Park Light...
Bislang hatte ich fast ausschließlich Weitwinkelfotos mit keinem oder ziemlich langweiligem Vordergrund gesehen (es gibt dort auch nicht wirklich was außer einer nackten Felskante)...und so habe ich bewusst diese Mauer mit einbezogen. Für dieses Panoramabild habe ich zwölf 18mm Hochformatfotos zusammengesetzt. Das wäre ohne meinen Nodalpunktadapter mit diesem Vordergrund nicht möglich gewesen. Ich hoffe es gefällt euch.
Die Schlehen werfen ihre Früchte auch im Winter nicht ab, Vögel freuen sich, außer wenn sie eisumhüllt sind.

This shade cast a flower pot with bluebells and a small fairy made of zinc – her foot can be very well stuck in the potting soil and so she remains stable ;-)

Diesen Schatten werfen ein Blumentopf mit Glockenblumen und eine kleine Fee aus Zink – ihren einen Fuß kann man ganz prima in die Blumenerde stecken und so bleibt sie standfest ;-)

On April 30 I had a lovely chat with friendly visitors from space and I even could sneek a peek into their cockpit and take an image of it ! You see the captain of the crew.
Unfortunaltely this space ship was too small for me to hop in myself ... but it was a fun encounter nonetheless !

This is actually the plastic head of a reusable metal cocktail stick for finger food; taken in front of the keyboard of my tablet with internal lighting switched on; additional lighting with a coloured LED-light

Am 30. April hatte ich ein nettes Gespräch mit freundlichen Besuchern aus dem All und konnte sogar einen Blick in ihr Cockpit werfen und Aufnahmen davon machen ! Ihr seht den Kapitän der Crew.
Leider war das Raumschiff zu klein für mich, um einzusteigen ... dennoch: eine lustige Begegnung !
Crazy Tuesday - Thema: aus Plastik gemacht / Plastik
Das ist tatsächlich ein Cocktail-Spieß / Partyspießchen für Fingerfood (wiederverwendbar mit Metallspieß und witzigen Plastikfigürchen als Kopf; es sind insgesamt 8 verschiedene in der Packung), die Tastatur meines Tablets mit eingeschalteter Beleuchtung im Hintergrund und zusätzliche Beleuchtung durch farbiges (rotes) LED-Licht
wir fahren im Ballon über das Allgäuer Land. Im Licht der tief stehenden Sonne werfen die Hügel, Bäume und Häuser ihre Schatten. So bekommt die Landschaft auch aus der Sicht von oben einen dreidimensionalen Charakter.

Hohenwerfen Castle is a medieval rock castle, situated on a 623 metres precipice overlooking the Austrian market town of Werfen in the Salzach valley, approximately 40 kilometres south of Salzburg. The fortress is surrounded by the Berchtesgaden Alps and the adjacent Tennen Mountains. Hohenwerfen is a "sister" of Hohensalzburg Castle, both built by the Archbishops of Salzburg in the 11th century.

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is a California State Park located within the Colorado Desert of southern California, United States. The park takes its name from 18th century Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza and borrego, a Spanish word for sheep. With 600,000 acres that includes one-fifth of San Diego County, it is the largest state park in California.
One of the best places to get a look at the Badlands’ surreal scene, nicknamed California’s Grand Canyon.
It was a wonderful sunrise with beautiful light.
Ein wunderschöner Sonnenaufgang am Font's Point - Anza Borrego Desert State Park, Kalifornien
Der Anza-Borrego Desert State Park ist ein kalifornischer State Park in der Colorado Wüste in Südkalifornien, USA. Der Park hat seinen Namen vom spanischen Entdecker Juan Bautista de Anza aus dem 18. Jahrhundert und Borrego, einem spanischen Wort für Schafe. Mit 240.000 ha, zu denen ein Fünftel des San Diego County gehört, ist es der größte State Park in Kalifornien.
Einer der besten Orte, um einen Blick auf die surreale Szene der Badlands zu werfen, mit dem Spitznamen Grand Canyon von Kalifornien.
Es war ein wunderbarer Sonnenaufgang mit schönem Licht.

Glenfinnan Viaduct has been used as a location in several films and television series, including the Harry Potter films. The Jacobite Steam Train runs from here to Fort William and Mallaig and attracts a lot of people - we were too late to find a parking place so took a look with the hogwarts train ;-)
Das Glenfinnan Viadukt ist ein berühmter Filmort und bekannt aus zahlreichen Filmen und Serien, u.a. den Harry Potter Filmen. Der Jacobite Steam Train fährt von Fort William nach Mallaig und zieht sehr viele Besucher an - wir haben keinen Parkplatz bekommen und mussten daher einen Blick ohne Zug werfen :-)
Don't fear our daily pirates - they come every day in the morning and throw anchor here in front of the white Cleopatra beach.
They leave here the boats and have a swim until the whistle calls them back.

Chamula liegt im Hochland von Chiapas auf einer Höhe von 2.200 Metern. Es wird von den einheimischen Tzotzil-Maya bewohnt , deren Tzotzil-Sprache eine der Mayasprachen ist .
Die Stadt genießt in Mexiko einen einzigartigen autonomen Status . Im Dorf sind weder Polizisten noch Militärangehörige zugelassen. Chamulas haben ihre eigene Polizei.
Das Fotografieren in der Stadt ist sehr schwierig, da Eltern ihre Kinder verstecken oder sich abwenden, sobald sie eine Kamera entdecken. Das Fotografieren innerhalb der Kirche ist strengstens untersagt, ebenso wie das Fotografieren der Weihnachtsprozession zur Kirche. Sie können Sie aus der Stadt werfen, wenn Sie versuchen, diese Regel zu verletzen.
The Chamula people have a very distinct culture. Most visibly, their religion, though considered Catholicism, is a blend of Christianity and Mayan traditions. Their main place of worship is the church of San Juan Chamula. If you get to know Chamulas a little more you might also witness some baffling features in their everyday life and value system: they have taken law into their own hands and sometimes use force to bring people to justice. At the same time you may find families who see children foremost as an economic burden or people who are willing to sell their children like some commodity not showing any emotional connection towards their children as they are making an offer to do so.

Antwerpen, Grote Markt
Der Brabobrunnen ist ein Springbrunnen auf dem Grote Markt der belgischen Stadt Antwerpen. Er wurde 1887 von dem Antwerpener Bildhauer Jef Lambeaux (1852−1908) geschaffen. Die Bronzeplastik greift deutlich Stilmerkmale des italienischen Manierismus auf.
In ihrer Darstellung bezieht sie sich auf die Legende um die Stadtgründung Antwerpens. Sie zeigt den jungen Helden Silvius Brabo, wie er die abgehackte Hand des Riesen Druon Antigon, den er zuvor im Kampf besiegt hatte, in die Schelde wirft. Der Riese hatte am Ufer der Schelde von den vorbeifahrenden Schiffern Wegzoll verlangt. Konnten sie den Zoll nicht bezahlen, hackte er ihnen die rechte Hand ab. The Brabo Fountain is a fountain on the Grote Markt in the Belgian city of Antwerp. It was created in 1887 by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux (1852-1908). The bronze sculpture clearly takes up stylistic features of Italian Mannerism.
In her presentation, she refers to the legend surrounding the foundation of the city of Antwerp. It shows the young hero Silvius Brabo throwing the chopped off hand of the giant Druon Antigon, whom he had previously defeated in battle, into the Scheldt. The giant had demanded toll from passing skippers on the banks of the Scheldt. If they couldn't pay customs, he chopped off their right hand.
