When it comes to my Fitness Program, I have been exceptionally remiss for seven months. The usual lame excuse – I got really busy; and an unusual lame excuse – I lost the template for my Expedition Fit graphic when my computer hard-drive crashed.
But I managed to lose five pounds over the past six months! Never mind that the loss was likely a result of muscle atrophy rather than fat loss, it's the numbers that count, right?
Not right? Meh, whatta you know?!
Anywhoo – reboot time. Not exactly a re-start, more like press-play-to-unpause.
And I can't really say "re-boot" because I couldn't find the original photo I used for the Expedition Fit graphic, the one with the boots, so I'm using an image of a decrepit old ruin instead.
Howzat for symbolism?

These self confident 20 somethings with great cheekbones and a slender but curvy frame have it easy - a great photo subject available every day. I am 42 and have never had the easy beauty some women on flickr are blessed with.
I have been fortunate so far that all of my portrait subjects have been so photogenic. I am not naturally photogenic, have never been comfortable in front of the camera. Some day I may encounter a portrait client that is like me. I want to be able to serve her well. This is also a great chance to track my fitness goals. In 2011 I started running and lost some fat, gained some muscle. This year I will push harder and achieve more.
I will be more physically fit and I will be a better photographer - more able to flatter every face and every figure.
oops apparently this image already broke a rule of the Project 365! group (no composits and no portriats) well, I took it before I was sure I'd join and hadn't read the rules. now I know - I'll be better in the future. Though I think showing front back and side view is good for my fitness progression project. may have to keep it separate.

For a while I was managing to lose two pounds a month.
Over the past three months, I have managed to gain four pounds a month, with the result that I am now heavier than I was when I began my Quest for Expedition Condition one year ago. Much of the gain occurred during a week-long "expedition" to visit relatives last month, during which I both dined well and consumed copious quantities of sugary caffeinated beverages and fast food to maintain emotional equilibrium.
I seem to have dropped two of the "vacation pounds" in the last week. But now I'm hitting the road again, although this time via automobile rather than by air, so the stress levels will be considerably lower. The fast food opportunities, however, will be more abundant.
