Yes...read it and weep, my friends...frost. We woke up to an icy glaze covering the outside world the morning before last. The little ice crystals sure are beautiful, they also look bizarre on pumpkins, mums and vibrant autumn leaves. Not to worry...the cold didn't last....we're thankfully back to normal temps. Though I think the cold will be back next week...that's New England for you ;-)
Hope everyone is having a great week. Enjoy the rest of your day, my friends :-)
I weep for my country.
In a time of great peril, we need a great leader; instead we have ... Donald Trump.
Heaven help us all.

..."to everything
there is a season
and a time to every purpose,
under heaven
a time to be born, a time to die
a time to plant, a time to reap
a time to kill, a time to heal
a time to laugh, a time to weep"...

I look at you all, see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at the floor, and I see it needs sweeping
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don't know why nobody told you
How to unfold your love
I don't know how someone controlled you
They bought and sold you
I look at the world, and I notice it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake, we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don't know how you were diverted
You were perverted too
I don't know how you were inverted
No one alerted you
I look at you all, see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
Look at you all
Still my guitar gently weeps

Nuestras mariposas

HMM , have a wonderful week ahead!
I look at the world and I see it's still turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don't know how you were diverted
You were perverted too
I don't know how you were inverted
No one alerted you
I look from the wings at the play you are staging
While my guitar gently weeps
As I'm sitting here doing nothing but aging

- Music: While My Guitar Gently Weeps (LOVE version) by The Beatles
...from lack of being played.
19:52 - Around the house - what's your favourite little nook or cranny?
I think this is probably cheating for the theme, but I photographed all my nooks and crannies, and they just didn't cut it. But I found the guitar and case in one of those crannies (corner of a closet). So I brought it out for a shoot. And I think it really is weeping from lack of being played. I shot this in the living room and the bokeh is our backyard through the window.
Now, here is some of the best guitar work ever, IMO :) And nothing to do with the title or who sang that song....

How I
How I
Weep for the loss
And it creeps down my chin
For the heart and the hair
And the skin and the air
That swirls itself around the bare
How I weep
How I weep
How I weep and I sleep
And I march and I dance
And I sing and I laugh
And I laugh and I laugh
But inside
But inside
Inside I weep
Inside I weep
And I weep for a loss
That's so deep
That it hardens and turns into stone
“Don't be ashamed to weep; 'is right to grieve. Tears are only water, and flowers, trees, and fruit cannot grow without water. But there must be sunlight also. A wounded heart will heal in time, and when it does, the memory and love of our lost ones are sealed inside to comfort us.” ― Brian Jacques, Taggerung

Margaret Waterfalls in Salmon Arms BC. Took us 3 hours to get here from Summerland, 3 hours to get back. the hike to the falls is as beautiful as the falls themselves - will post the journey to the falls in next frames.
HMM all - for the "Inspired by a Song" I chose the Beatles' song While My Guitar Gently Weeps as it is one of my favorite songs from one of the best bands - I really don't know many songs like this one. This image is taken on my Ovation guitar.
I've been having a dry spell of late and managed to thumb through some of my archives of 2015.
One of my favorite locations in West Virginia, Blackwater Falls State Park, is home to Elekala Falls. My recent trip here earlier this year details the erosion of the hillside off to the right as it is getting harder to get into this ravine for photo shooting.

Sure on this shining night
Of star made shadows round,
Kindness must watch for me
This side the ground.
The late year lies down the north.
All is healed, all is health.
High summer holds the earth.
Hearts all whole.
Sure on this shining night
I weep for wonder wand'ring far alone
Of shadows on the stars.

Another shot from Joshua Tree taken last June when there were only four of us shooting in silence in the White Tank Campground. As I was thinking back on that night, the above text from James Agee came to mind. What an incredible night.

"I will no longer weep for you because I love you, I will smile in your memory because you love me and this gives me peace."
Who better than The Cure could describe a night like this :)
The prelude to the most "frightening" night of the year.
Those who have been following me for the longest time know that here in Italy, Halloween was not celebrated in my time and, for me, it's like a horror carnival :)
We have the First November in which we celebrate all the Saints and November 2 is the commemoration of the dead.
I played with these arms that I found in the public domain.
Thanks to all, friends, for the affection shown, for all your visits and comments.
Happy Halloween to all!

Elizabeth Barrett Browning
I tell you, hopeless grief is passionless;
That only men incredulous of despair,
Half-taught in anguish, through the midnight air
Beat upward to God’s throne in loud access
Of shrieking and reproach. Full desertness,
In souls as countries, lieth silent-bare
Under the blanching, vertical eye-glare
Of the absolute heavens. Deep-hearted man, express
Grief for thy dead in silence like to death —
Most like a monumental statue set
In everlasting watch and moveless woe
Till itself crumble to the dust beneath.
Touch it; the marble eyelids are not wet:
If it could weep, it could arise and go.
Sleep. Don’t weep,
My sweet love.
My face it's all wet
'Cause my day was rough.
Don't weep, my sweet love.
My face, it's all wet
'Cause my days are rough.
Some day the earth will weep. She will beg for her life, she will cry with tears of blood. You will make a choise, if you will help her or let her die, and when she dies, you too will die.
(John Hollow Hern, Oglala Lakota – Indian wisdom)
Be tolerant of those who are lost on their path. Ignorance, conceit, anger, jealousy and greed stem from a lost soul. Pray that they will find guidance. (Elder wisdom)
I love nature as it is, without mankind changed or straightened. My heart beats for landscapes as I show them here, rough, wild and primitive. I hope with this series of pictures from Canada, to have conveyed just this character of the country, because that is my concern. It is also deep in my heart to honor the indigenous and original population of the "Wild West" with these images, because they are always forgotten. To wrong, as I mean. Their wisdom and courage must be honored and respected, as well as their justified concerns for their native country. Since I am child, I wear this in my heart and have now been able to fulfill one of my childhood dreams by visiting this wonderful country with its unique nature.

More killed by gun violence today!!! When are we going to learn to value all human life? Stop the guns and stop the violence now please. It makes me weep that people cannot comprehend the hate and the violence going on today. We can learn to love and we should do so for the sake of our children.
This work is done in collaboration with my friend, Massimo Bardelli.
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️
Fix it—
Shouldn't care
I should just weep
Shouldn't care
I should just sleep
When you're lost without a clue
And the distance turns to blue
I'Il fix it for you
Yesterday faced off this rain
Now today everything's plain
Your heart is being accused
You're darkened and you're bruised
I'Il fix it for you
Shouldn't care
I should iust weep
Shouldn't care
I should just sleep
When you're lost without a clue
And the distance turns to blue
I'Il fix it for you

Willow Weep for Me
Ella Fitzgerald
Willow weep for me
Willow weep for me
Bent your branches down along the ground and cover me
Listen to my plea
Hear me willow and weep for me
Gone my lovely dreams
Lovely summer dreams
Gone and left me here
To weep my tears along the stream
Sad as I can be
Hear me willow and weep for me
Whisper to the wind and say thy love has sinned
To leave my heart a sign
And crying alone
Murmur to the night
Hide her starry light
So none will find me sighing
Crying all alone
Weeping willow tree
Weeping sympathy
Bent your branches down along the ground and cover me
Listen to me plea
Hear me willow and weep for me
