I love this quote and I think it is so true. When we make decisions in life, it is based on the sum of things that we know, that we are, that we think, that we believe as of that particular moment. Therefore, it is pointless to beat ourselves up over a "bad" one that we might have made. We just need to move on from it and from there and make the best new decisions in this new moment.
I think my friend Joel was reaching out to me as I searched for quotes about decisions and came up with this one. Proust was his favorite and coincidentally, yesterday we went to a dramatic play reading of two of Joel's plays. Both plays were based on Proust and one also based on the Dreyfus affair. The director and the actors did such a fantastic job interpreting and presenting Joel's plays.
Yesterday was jam-packed with fun, starting with the play readings. After that over to Helix camera to pick up a few things and shop around. That place is heaven for a photographer! Then we spent quite a while at the annual Gold Coast Art Fair shooting people, talking to vendors, listening to music and sweating my ass off. Then a walk over to Star of Siam Thai restaurant to cool off, relax and enjoy some delicious food and drink.
On the way back to the car to pick up gear for the blue hour photo shoot we were heading to next, there were fire trucks, police cars, and a Haz Mat truck in front of the Bean at Millennium Park. They had evacuated the park due to a suspicious package being found under the Bean. There were cops and firemen all over, Michigan avenue was blocked off. It was crazy! I found out this morning that it turned out to be a fake bomb put there by some teenagers in some crazy role-playing activity.
The night ended with a blue hour photo walk meet-up near Clinton and Lake. We shot from train tracks across the river. It was fun to meet some people in real life who are Flickr contacts. I find myself being intimidated shooting with other photographers, so going out on these photo walks is helping and I'm enjoying it a lot.
I don't think I could have packed more fun into yesterday. I left the house around 7:45 in the morning and didn't get home until 12:30 or so. I think we probably walked at least 10 miles all day. I was exhausted, sore, sunburned but the fun was worth every bit. My soul is filled and I still have a smile on my face. I feel blessed.
I have about 700 shots to go through from yesterday, but since today is Sunday and I'm taking it easy on myself after yesterday's fun, I spent some time sliding this one for Sliders Sunday. HSS!

So today a group of about 14 people decided to go to the North part of the island and go hiking in Waipio Valley. Some areas were similar to a rain forest, and the beach we went to was a black sand beach. We saw crazy (strange) houses further in the valley and explored closer to the waterfalls. At one point, around 30 thousand people lived in the valley, but in the 60s a tsunami came and the people left. There will probably be over 50 photos from the group that I'll post.

Quite a weird sensation holding the handrail, and lots of feeling of, 'what if I were to fall in'? and lots of questions asked such as "Imagine I slipped here", or "Imagine you stood up there and tried to see how far along that sloped wall you could stand", "Imagine you were swept in"...etc...etc...
We found an incredible location today thanks to Hepcat75, whom I met after the Z club meet...
