What is a perfect moment for me (talking about photography of course)..
Picture this : a walk in the windy & rainy countryside, as suddenly the sun bursts through the sky for about 5 minutes max,
pick out a location nearby, set up the tripod, set the 10 sec timer, focus, run to the focused flowers...and...click ! ! eh voilà !
The Perfect Moment !

Theme of "breakfast" for the 52:1014 group. This was Friday morning. I was hoping to do a proper family shot at the table but my husband got called into work at 3.30 and didn't get back home so it was just me doing the full chaos that is the morning in our house. One dog to walk. 2 teenagers to prise out of bed, 5 breakfasts including cooked, one packed lunch to make, one rugby bag to pack, two forms to sign, kitchen tidied, 4 kids to nag re teeth cleaning, 1 hair to brush and plait (not mine), 1kid to neighbours by 7.40, 3kids driven to school by 8 (we could have made the bus, just), one mummy to work by 8 (ish). And of course a photo to take.
No wonder we were exhausted!
not really my view on negative space,
but this one will have to do
since I'm way too busy this week !

Had a hard time this time to produce a high key image; though I had done this before..
This one's the easy way : put the light meter way to high and let that light come in the camera and do the job for you..
(yep, that's my willing model & girlfriend)

for Sliders Sunday HSS !
Seen great "camera selfies" last week in 52 weeks : the 2014 edition.
Didn't realize that many would take selfies (which I like doing myself) holding their camera in hand;
never done this before (camera on gorilla pod on head), and if you should ask yourself, what's wrong with this guy ?
Don't worry, I was born crazy, or, to phrase the words of famous impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh : "Normality is a paved road : it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it".
Though I must admit he was kind of crazy too :)
By the way : info on my camera to be found on my Flickr profile !
"a secret revealed"
As you can see @ the date :
taken back a while ago, in France,
after a 9 hours car drive to a first photography course i enlisted,
where I picked up the basics of photography again, and most of all,
where I picked up something of me
that was lost for years :
creativity and the urge to do
something for myself again.
Since then my life transformed quickly
& amazingly,
I wouldn't recognize myself anymore :)

My homeplace ?
"Anywhere I lay my head" sang someone once..
Left my home where I lived for 14 years with my former wife & kids (which I still see by the way) to move into an appartment in my old hometown Leuven. Lived there for 4 years, felt like home, until I moved into the house of my new partner, and her kids, creating a new home.
Which ain't easy, but as a kid I moved a lot with my parents, so I think I'm used to it.
This second hand garden shed is the first project Leen & I built together, so you could call this "our homeplace" (if you're really curious, yes, we sleep inside the house, what did you think ?)
Taken on the dance floor where i spent my transition to the new year,
after having a cosy dinner with some friends @ home we went to a dance party for adults, where they play all sorts of music (mostly modern) because we "oldies" love to dance too you know !
Got partly rid of my cold that night,
shaking of the ghost of 2013 :)
Happy New Year to you all !
a collage of "instruments" i use in my kind of "business", who takes a guess ? (hint : see my profile)

Always amazing to see how nature changes from a bare tree into a seed & into a flower in just a couple of weeks..
I love the super powers of Mother Earth :)
