The 1940s war weekend is a nostalgic look at the 1940s with re-enactors, military vehicles, stalls with 1940s memorabilia along with entertainment 1940s style. A mock battle will also take place at Rawtenstall station.

So this is my new buddy! While I was in Long Island over the weekend, I saw a sign for a giant sale and I wanted to go. I thought it would be in someone's yard of course, but it turned out it was actually this like giant thrift / vintage sale at a temple. There was just so much stuff there, it was impossible to look at it all. I wasn't really finding anything interesting but then I came across this teeny tiny mini camera upstairs, and then I got two random zippers too for making skirts or dresses or something. :)

Anyway, then I headed back downstairs to pay, and I was kind of dissapointed I didn't find any other cameras. I was just about to pay when suddenly my sister spied this little guy and was like, "Hey, do you want to get this one?" So I started looking at it, and unfortunately the back didn't really close and the shutter seemed kind of stuck.

I wasn't going to get it, until I saw this note tucked inside. It says: Hello! I need a bit of fixing up, but in the right hands I think I could do wonders! Or else, at least, recycle me? And then there's a heart and an exclamation point. And then I felt bad, because I started wondering who else would buy it, and I felt sorry for the camera because I didn't want him to get recycled or something. (Yes I get way too attached to innanimate objects, see this.) And it was only three dollars, so of course I got him.

As of right now, I suppose I could tape the back closed really tightly or something. The other problem is that for some reason the shutter sticks open every other time it's pressed. So if I shot a roll of film now, every other photo would be really overexposed. I guess I might shoot a roll and see how it turns out, and then see how much it would cost to get it fixed completely, we'll see. I like him though and get way too sentimental towards cameras and other stuff. :)

Chatuchak weekend market in Bangkok is the largest market in Thailand. It is estimated that the market receives 200,000 visitors each day. Most stalls only open on Saturdays and Sundays though Jatujak Plaza, the western section is open daily.

The market offers a wide variety of products including household items, clothing, Thai handicrafts, religious artifacts, collectibles, foods, and live animals. For tourists, there are a number of onsite companies who will send purchases abroad.

UT Law Reunion Weekend kicked off with dinner and dancing, featuring Texas' very own Asleep at the Wheel. No suits, no speeches, casual attire, good food and pure fun!

Xmas gift for my mom, used Heather Ross pattern in Weekend Sewing. Came together really nicely -- I think because I took my time with the pinning and stitching.

I quickly machine quilted the fabric to mimic a vintage piece that mom admired.

Weekend walkabout around town....

I was out and about with a friend. These are my finds between Target and 5 Below. The Disney figures were only $2.50. The Scrooge McDuck went to my friend. For anyone looking the face masks do come off the action figures.
