Paint the Moon: Let's Do 52: Week 7/52 "Pretty Ugly (beauty in the unexpected)" Alternate theme is "Smooth."
On 4/18/2010 My two daughters were in a 4-wheeler accident. Long story short my youngest daughter, who is in the picture, broke her tibia & her fibula. In all she lost probably 6 inches or so of bone. The contraption on her leg in the top 3 photos is an external fixator, she had to wear it for 8 months. During that time she had to undergo oxygen therapy in a Hyperbaric Chamber, this is where we were headed in the 2nd row of photos. She had to wear special scrubs that wear 10 miles too big for her. Through it all she never complained. She came close to losing her leg, we are so thankful she didn't. The first photo in the last row is her leg now. If it wasn't for her "ugly" scar, which is beautiful to us, you wouldn't even know she went through all that. As you can see from the 2nd photo in the bottom row she actually had fun with it. The last photo was take tonight. She is my strong little girl! So we find Beauty in the Unexpected Scar of her leg.
~Sorry for the graphic photos but they help tell the story~
We just found out we're having another little GIRL!!!! She wanted to say *HI* for her latest pic! :)
Final image. I wanted to turn this on it's side as soon as I saw it through the viewfinder. The contact sheet show about 4 images for this shot and they are all of increasing exposure duration. Oddly, I chose the shortest, rather than the longest as a better image!
The Big Stopper doesn't make all pictures better apparently :)
Somewhere we went wrong
Our love is like a song, but you wont sing along
you've forgotten about us
Dont forget.
i had a couple other versions of the same idea. but i think i liked this one the most, one of the 1st ones i took. even though theres a bit too much going on.
EDIT: ok nvm i hate it
so im hoping you all know what i mean by the ribbon tied around my finger...(hint, hint: people used to tie it around their finger to remember things)
i finally got the number of people that consider me a contact higher than the people i consider a contact. its not that big of a deal and all of you probably have higher than 142 people but whatever :)
hmm wat else...oh finals are over weve got a new trimester and spring break next week so you can finally expect some decent pictures coming soon :)
Welcome to Global Week – a celebration of the rich cultural diversity across all three campuses – running from Monday 3 to Friday 7 March 2014.
We browsed the farmer's market and came back with baked goods & cheese from Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse. There's apple biscuits, cheese biscuits, and cranberry-walnut breadsticks. The cheese is called "Frolic," described as a smooth, mellow Alpine. We loved all of it.
"Union Square Greenmarket will celebrate the fall harvest with farmers selling their farm fresh produce, meats, and cheeses, while sharing a space with a curated roster of restaurants serving prepared foods. Along with all of the delicious food served that evening, there will be a pumpkin patch, live music by Jazz Foundation of America, as well as a bar featuring Brooklyn Greenmarket Wheat and hard cider by the glass, in celebration of Cider Week."
Looks much the same as 9 weeks. The ten week picture was censored due to extreme ugliness. *shudder*

I asked the "ideas man" if he had any 'good rusty stuff' I could photograph. He thought that was somewhat of an oxymoron however he did show me a very old English vehicle dashboard that was definitely rusty !
WEEK 30
Artistic: Family
In the last challenge you shot a family portrait. This time use family as your inspiration. Since this is the advanced challenge no people can be in the image.

I've had this model of camera for 5 years now - 3 versions of it (Obe-one [stolen], R2D2 [smashed spectacularly], and currently C3PO [still kickin']) ... They have served me well
San Francisco Fleet Week 2016 finished with a bang on Sunday, with another spectacular airshow, featuring (among others) the Bretling Jet Team, The Patriots, and the Blue Angels, who were competing to see who could get the most "wow" moments with the crowd!

whats been happening in my world this week (you probably dont want to know but i'm gonna tell you ayway ;o)
* word of the day for tuesday was 'dickhead', not sure why, just had the urge to say it several times ;o)
* had the usual erm 'fun' customers at work. i touched sarah and got a shock, i said 'ooh i just got a little prick' to which an old lady replied 'aren't you lucky ' hehe :o)
* then the annoying lady who asked where the nail polish remover, here's how the conversation went:
lady: wheres the nail remover?
me: (Pointing) its there.
lady: where?!
me: there, right there...
lady: where?!
me: right there in front of you.
(at this point the lady turns arounds and looks at the shelf behind her)
lady: where, i cant see it?!
me: (getting slightly annoyed) erm, no not there, turn around and it was right in front of you.
lady: is this it?! (picks up a pack of nail buffers).
me: (very close to strangling her) no, there, the pink bottle with the pink lid!!!
lady looks up and down the shelf. i then give up, mutter a naughty word under my breathe and grab the bottle off the shelf!! oh my christ!!!
* my week didnt get any better when willow ate the dinner i had ready to take to work, bitch!! she'd knocked the tub off the counter top so it fell on the floor and the lid fell off, what cat eats jacket potato and rice?!!!! i then had to bodge together some food (salad and little rolls), well, i toasted the roll and burnt it, the i got the tiny bit of salad i had out of the fridge to find the stupid fridge had frozen it :o( not a good day.....
* i embarassed myself when a lady asked if we sold towels, i yelled over to kirsty in the next isle asking if we had any kitchen towels when the customer said she actually meant sanitary towels, eekkk!!!
* i have had a lovely weekend though ha :o) met up with nem and the kids on sat, then me and alex went shopping. and today we've had a jim jam day, relaxed and having a nice candle lit meal later (homemade curry and yummy starters mmmm).
Super busy week and no good ideas. Quick grabbed this out of the curio cabinet. I'm not even sure where we got it from.
Correction: My daughter just came home and told me my Dad had given to her. It was his Mom's (my Grandma's).
Sorry I am behind on commenting!!
Hopefully things will be winding down soon, although this is such a busy time of year!!
Took a visit to the site of the derelict and abandoned St. Johns Hospital site in Chelmsford this week with PHOENIXLIBRA - had a great time walking about and exploring one of the many large buildings.
The hospital closed its doors for the last time on 19th November 2010 after being gradually decommissioned since 2007.
This is one of the rooms near the Chapel.

That was the first time after a long time where I used to have fun at the shoot again. Fun is the best motivation for me.
I liked this week, although we have written two tests. I've met some friends and relaxed. :D
I hope you had a great week :).
