I always look forward to editing a romantic video montage, it gives me a chance to replace the sometimes loud sounds of a wedding reception with romantic music. I always included a montage like this at the very end of every "live action" wedding video that I created. Many times people just look a little better, more elegant, in video when they are slowed down a little which is what I did here.. This video was shot with a Panasonic HMC-40 on a monopod and edited in Final Cut Pro X. I always provided my final weddings on a dual layer DVD since all family members no matter their age had a DVD player... many Videographers of course provide their videos on a thumb drive. I would like to point out how subjective a romantic montage like this is. One example of this... I was requested to use the 1960's song "Spooky" as a romantic end montage because it was the Bride's favorite song???... that was one of the most difficult edits that I had to make because if you know the song there is nothing romantic about it. Couple Leaves on a Mardi Gras Float. This wedding video is a montage of a larger wedding video that I captured a few years ago. Its unique because the couple "second lines" out of the venue onto a lighted float throwing beads to their guest as the float travels outside of the venue. This is the only venue that I am aware of that offers this type of Mardi Gras wedding reception experience in New Orleans. For those who may not be familiar with second lining, its is a dance that many people in the area do towards the very end of a wedding reception.... it involves basically bopping around in a circle with other guests waving a handkerchief above your head... the bridal couple usually has an umbrella... its very much a New Orleans thing and I can always tell when guests are from out of town because they look uncomfortable and wondering what the hell it is while doing it. I loved capturing the Mardi Gras float that the couple was on and I can only imagine that it provided very vivid memories for the couple. The video was captured using two video cameras... a Panasonic HMC-40P and a GoPro Hero 3 Black.
