Wedding bus VG 10 with all the bells & whistles to Lucan on an evening 25A.

Broadstone based Wright Gemini's VG 9 & 10 were delivered in wedding bus livery, generally operating peak time xpresso routes, along with N4 additional services as above.

All go on Aston Quay heading for Lucan, in the background Conyngham Road ALX400, AX 406 is about to set off for the lessor known Dodsboro, while taking the lead, Broadstone based wedding bus VG 9 operates the 25A service to the busier Esker part of Lucan.

Wedding buses & cakes, at the Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin.

The scene outside the swanky Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin City Centre is pure comedy gold! That iconic red London Routemaster bus, usually ferrying grumpy commuters across the Thames, has been hijacked for a wedding gig. Decked out with a "Just Married" sign and a few too many streamers, it’s lumbering along like a tipsy uncle at the reception, proudly announcing to all of Dublin that it’s here to shuttle the bride’s slightly tipsy guests. With its vintage charm and that route 15 sticker still clinging on, it’s as if it’s muttering, “I didn’t sign up for this, but I’ll roll with it for the open bar!”

Not to be outdone, the tiny blue Fiat 500 from "Empire Bespoke Cakes" rolls up like the wedding’s cheeky little sidekick. Fresh from delivering the multi-tiered masterpiece (probably with a few crumbs still on the seats), this pint-sized show-off is strutting its stuff, thinking it’s the star of the show. With its license plate winking at the crowd, it’s as if the Fiat’s saying, “Sure, the bus is big, but I’m the one who brought the cake—and I look better in the photos!” The guests are torn between piling into the bus for a wobbly ride or squeezing into the Fiat for a sugar-fueled joyride—either way, this wedding’s transportation lineup is stealing the spotlight!

Routemaster bus RM1627 (reg. 627 DYE) was delivered to London Transport in June 1963, with a Leyland engine, pounding the streets of London for many years, ending its days on the heritage route 9.

Now part of the Dualway Coaches, Rathcoole fleet.

Following the withdrawl from private hire & in particualr wedding bus hire, the wedding adframes were replaced with traditional advertisements pending respray into traditional Dublin Bus colours.

It was truely the end of "Wedding Bus " - thinking back to the very start when KD366 first appeared in bridal white & every handrail wrapped in floral trim.

Clontarf Enviro400 EV 88, one of two in the garage, delivered in wedding bus format is seen at its Portmarnock terminus for route 42, with a Just Eat ad replacing the wedding bells.

Clontarf Garage AV 416 in pristine condition on route 32A to Malahide.

Certain trips on routes 32 & 32B to Portmarnock are extended to Malahide, offering connections with radial route 102 to Dublin Airport.

Route 32A offers spectacular views along the Coast Road in Portmarnock, all the way to Malahide. You know your out in the countryside when the stage points are still listed with some romantically old names such as The Farm & Monks Meadow.

The streets were cleared for this shot of wedding bus AV 416, which was joined with similar AV 417 at Clontarf in wedding format.

A happy bride with her groom and his supporters.

Dublin Bus Broadstone Garage RV 630, this really was the garage pet at the time, given its special purpose as a wedding bus, used for those special days, so had to be kept pristine & away from the ravages of certain routes, usually confined to the expresso 50X.

From time to time, it did wander, captured above on cross city route 123 between Marino & Drimnagh, 15th May 2004.

Not everyone was being as cooperative as I would have liked. Nonetheless I captured this photograph.
