You know, one of these days my luck with the weather at such an unpredictable time of day will wear out, but in the mean time I plan to play with mother nature and see how many times I can do this without getting caught.

This is the fourth time I have visited this lake at sunrise and each and every time I go it seems like it just gets better and better. No two shots are ever the same just because of the way the sun rises differently every day. Perhaps inevitably after dozens of visits the scenery will begin to look similar, but it will never be the same as any other day.

I am working on restoring an old fiberglass canoe and as soon as that is done, I plan to make many future trips to this one of a kind lake.

I had a real crappy day at work the other day. And, even though I had come to this exact same spot a year ago, I decided to revisit. Taking pictures always puts me in a much better mood :-)

From this angle it almost looks like the planes are stacked right on top of one another. In reality the planes get as close as 18 inches to each other. Taken at the Oregon International Air Show.

This was taken at the base of the stairs leading up to the viewpoint for Bridal Veil Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. The wind storm we had last Thursday didn't leave many leaves up on the trees.

I left Portland at 9:30 with the intention of shooting a couple waterfalls hoping to get in a few shots before fall was completely over. By the time I got to the edge of Troutdale I noticed it was a little to late for leaves to be left on the trees, there were only a few left. As I was driving I noticed all the fresh fallen snow on the high hilltops. I thought I might try driving up to Larch Mountain, but I assumed the gate would be closed. The entire way up I followed another car in front of me (I was glad to see another car on the road as the snow and ice became thicker and thicker) who turned out to be rasone, another flickr member.

The light was getting a little harsh as the sun moved higher into the sky, but it was worth it just to be one of the first (well...second :-) people to explore this fresh winter wonderland. We both imagined what it had looked like at sunrise on this day, but agreed it was probably to icy to venture a car ride all the way up.

The best part about all this is, on our way down we ended up passing a snow plow headed up. I wonder if they were on there way to close that gate on Larch Mt Rd at mile post 10. I'm going to miss the autumn leaves, but I am looking forward to plenty of winter shots ahead.

And now, I will try to get some sleep before I have to get up in an hour and a half :-)

I left Portland at 5:00 am to try and catch the sunrise glistening off Mt Hood. I arrived at Trillium lake at 6:30 while it was still dark. I'm grateful I arrived when I did to take some of these shots before the sun actuall rose because as the sun was rising fog completely covered the mountain. I'm glad it wasn't a wasted trip. This time...I was prepared for the cold weather.

45 Minutes Later

Sparks Lake is one of those alpine picturesque lakes with sweeping views of South Sister to the North, Broken Top to the Northeast, and Mount Bachelor to the Southeast. Although this lake is probably its deepest during the peak of snow melt in the spring, this time of year its deepest area is only about a foot and a half. This makes it extremely difficult to canoe solo across...I ended up beaching myself about 8 times on the muddy lake bottom and had to portage my canoe to another section of the lake. In the end I stayed on this island until the sun had completely risen and thoroughly enjoyed every minute...I just dreaded paddling back to the boat launch. As usual, this frustrating (and very dirty) trip ended up being completely worth it.

Remembering the iconic Raquelle, the gorgeous dolls and the massive BDE she constantly exhibited in the hit webshow Barbie Life In The Dreamhouse. This girl right here was responsible for getting me into collecting Barbie dolls back in 2011. She is now relegated to being a $5 Beach doll but her legacy shall never be forgotten.

One of the rowing teams had just come in from practice and were having a meeting before heading home for the night. I could have just waited until they left before taking this shot, but I think it adds to the interestingness.

I made a trip to the gorge today...bad idea. There were WAY too many people everywhere. I hiked up Oneonta Gorge to Triple Falls and then up the creek to Lower Oneonta falls. Didn't end up with any shots worth keeping, except for this one. Next time I will definitely go on a week day.

I did some extensive editing in photoshop for this one. I used a gradient layer to create a neutral density filter to darken the washed out sky. I performed some dodging a burning over the foreground to lighten and darken some areas. I think it turned out pretty good.

I didn't realize Mount Adams is about 1,000 feet taller than Mount Hood. It seems so under recognized.

Cloe is fitting right in with the guys and gals of J.Garibay.

I'm actually really happy with this new Bratz update. The dolls are cute, the webshow is cute, I love all of it. Cloe right off the bat was the one I really wanted and I'm not sure if I might invest on the rest of the girls. If anything I might just purchase all the Cloe dolls in every wave. It makes me sad that they have no articulation on the arms, but no worries, I popped her head onto a Madeline Hatter EAH doll. I found that she's a match for Cloe's skin tone. And anther thing, I'm sad that I didn't notice that on her left eyebrow she's chipped so I'm probably going to invest on another one with a perf face, and use this one for a OOAK project or something. Overall, Bratz, you girls know what's up. Haha

This shot was taken last year in the Japanese Garden of Portland. I was in a car accident last week (rear ended by a school bus!) so I probably won't be out to take any new shots of the fall colors for a while. I have had plenty of time to go back and look through some old memories.

These certainly are troubled waters! I went on a shoot with bnzai9 again. We attempted to reach Gorton creek falls. And when we came to the spot where the trail ends and you have to forge your own trail, the waters provided trouble. bnzai9 went up and around on the hill but I decided to stay behind as I had no urge to harm my neck further. I made my way up the creek far enough to see the massive falls behind some trees. This shot I took on our way back down.

A close up of Fairy Falls, one of the waterfalls above Wahkeena Falls in the Columbia River Gorge.

Today, my wife and I took a hike up to Larch Mountain in the Columbia River Gorge. It ended up being a 13.6 mile round trip hike with about 3,800 feet of elevation gain. Needless to say, it took just about all day. So, we left Multnomah Falls at 7am which provided for some low light environments from which to shoot abnormally long exposures such as this 10 second photo taken along Multnomah Creek.

That just doesn't flow as well as "Follow the yellow brick road"

Anyway, from this perspective you can really see why Seattle earned the nickname: "Emerald City". It really does look like that crystal green city from that classic movie (the name escapes me at the moment ;-) All the smog in the air is due to the recent firework shows.

I spend many weeks at my mom's house at the beach. I just bring my Barbie sport illustrated doll with me. The more I use her the more I love her. I wrote a lot...ok too much ! It was really great to think about nothing, no stress, no work, it give me time to think about my dolls of course.

The beginning

I start my doll story about an yeard ago. I've done tons of diorama, lot of clothes and lot of drama since then.

OverDrama

When I finished the season 2 I have many plans for every character. I had project for everyone, I wanted to split the gang to tell different stories. You need to understand that I start my story with about 12 character. It was easy to deal who was who. But Now I have almost 40 ! and I love them all. So create a big doll world that fit collector and Playline. It's fun ! But complicated. I feel like the last season of glee haha ! I'm losing the focus on the important elements,

What now ?

The whole point of this whole impulsive writing session is that I'm asking for advice. I know some of you (And I really thank everybody who's reading my stories) love my story, And I really love it too. But I want to try new things, I buy new dolls, to incorporate them into the story and it kinda work.

Sharing, it's what it is all about

That's what I love to do. I want to continue my actual story, I would finished my "road to 2015" start season 3 and everything would continue the way it is.

OR.. what if !

My actual story would just be another mattel marketing project. In real life we have life in the dreamhouse webshow, we have barbie's movies, there are a lot of media support. I included a LOT in my stories, mattel fact, bio, gag, that the doll are dolls etc, Raquelle, Teresa, Ryan etc are fictionnal caracther and It's just another story like everybody do. Another version of the Barbie gang.

See I don't like waste. And I don't want to think that I lose my time an whole year. It was fun to entertain all of you. But ending it without ending....blah ! So it would just mean the season 3 did'nt get sign.

MY NEW STORY...

Would be about Barbara (the real barbie, in the real life, no dreamhouse, no happy gang friends, no sparkles, a kind of realistic story about Barbara life, more on the businesswoman and fashion icon than superstar glamour life.) She would own Barbie brand with her husband Kenneth Carson. Her entourage would be all real people, no mattel character, she would not have stacy and chelsea as sister. Her, Ken and Skipper would be the only three character inspired for mattel's toy. I would be less dramatic, but more interesting in the dialogue. It would be a story about Barbie real life if she would exist and not the doll.

So here it is. I really don't know what to do because both project really appeal me, And I really care about your opinion. Doll is all about sharing for me, and my boyfriend is SO TIRED ! of hearing me balancing both side all the time. So Help me take my decision !

I want to add that I would mostly use collector doll for my story because playline doll are "for me" the classic Barbie gang, the same premade character, I loved them but really want to start from zero. I would continue to buy and take picture of them, but you would know that it's "media support"..kind of like if Barbara hired an actress to play Barbie, to portraid ken, raquelle, etc. Because the real Barbara is a business woman. I really don't know if you understand the difference. It's hard to get it clear in my own head, so using word to describe it is kinda frustrating haha !

So let me know what you think about that, and if you read the whole thing than I thank you :)

In a way or another, I'll go back to storytelling

See ya
