This is the new bookmarks manager. Only, they're not bookmarks anymore, they're favorites. And they're stored on that del.i.cious site. But you can drag them around, and give them tags, and i guess they'd show up the same on other computers if you configured them to use the same deli.cio.us account... so that's cool.
This is another new window - the blog post composer. You can start from the main browser window with an empty post, a link, or some selected text (which Flock automatically adds a source link to). You can also drag stuff in from The Shelf.
Note the flickr pane at top.

Shape, order and stick it together - your individual paperlamp!
Lomé Light is a tranluscent parametric, user generated paperlamp. Inspired by the shape of Eduardo Chillida's "Buscando la Luz" from 1997, various properties, such as shape and number of all waved wall panels, height, width and size and shape of dovetail joints can be modified by you - many thanks here to Chris Chalmer's VB unroll plugin for grasshopper. All thin coated paper panels are simply curved. The seams can be turned inside and outside of the lampbody - you decide when you stick it together! Possible sizes reach from 30 to 150 cm (height).
Our main objective: every produced lamp will be an individual.
The Pricing below applies in case you would like to have the lamp produced by responsive design studio. A comprehensive web application to create your own lamp in a webbrowser or app is under construction.

Mozilla has released Firefox 3. And while it is noticeably faster and sports an interesting new look, I was really looking forward to it because finally a version of Firefox would support color profiles! It is frustrating to upload photos and find they look nothing like what you saved them as (even when using the web-standard sRGB color profile). Safari had the color profile support from the start - I don't know what took Mozilla so long. And apparently, in their wisdom, the default setting for this support is "off." Imagine my surprise (and further frustration), until I figured out how to turn it on.
For those interested (and I don't know why anyone wouldn't want this turned on), to enable Firefox 3 color profile management:
• enter "about:config" in the Firefox address bar
• click "I'll be careful, I promise" button
• type "gfx.color" in the filter field to limit its display to relevant entries.
• double click gfx.color_management.enabled entry to change the value to true
• restart Firefox
• voilà! colors the way they were supposed to look.

An Apple app is no longer required to control my various music players throughout the house. Now that I'm no longer constrained with a defective web browser on my iTouch/iPhoney, the Nokia N900 phone's browser renders the Logitech SlimServer to perfection. This is a screen shot directly captured on the N900, then posted via the N900 to flickr without a PC, nothing special required!

The one thing you cannot do from the blog composer is actually specify a blog to post to. For this, you need to go back to the main window, select Options from the Tools menu, find the Blogging tab, hit the button, and give it your blog address. If Flock likes your blog, it'll then add it to the list and let you select it in the blog composer.
It kinda sorta worked with a Livejournal i gave it. Not so much with my WDevs log.
Yeah... within a few minutes of being opened for the first time, this happened.
However, it's because the Yahoo! Mail beta isn't "officially supported" on Safari on Windows, but I did it anyways. and it lasted long enough to open the beta, log into myspace, and almost log into flickr.
This is what Flock looks like on startup. Note the funky new buttons at top, especially the big star next to the URL box - this is your new "bookmark" button.
I bought an Axim awhile back and love it. The 640x480 screen resolution makes for a pretty good web browser while on the road (showing the Seasonality website here), and it's great being able to check email while I'm out without carrying around my MBP.
This is the Shelf. You can drag bits of text or images into it, and it remembers them and where they came from. I don't know why they chose to use a separate window instead of a side bar, but there it is... i guess if you have a nice big monitor (or several), then it's no problem, but i kept losing track of this on my laptop.

Well for starters, the portrayal of this ideal desktop of mine is restricted to my lack of Photoshop skill. Notes are all across the image, showing what would be there.

Looks like Safari died again... This time, however, It'd been open for HOURS, with a shit-ton of tabs running... No Yahoo beta this time though! hehe... I was in the process of looking at the plugins I have on my Wordpress blog, getting ready to overhaul it... So... relaunch, and on with the one-week trial!
