It's taken me a few days to deal with this, but I'm glad I have, at last.
I came across this quite small spider busily spinning her web and made myself watch for about ten minutes.
The speed with which she completed each circuit was breathtaking and I was fascinated by the way she used her right back leg to place the silk precisely on the cross threads, where it stuck (I assume with the sticky gum the spider produces) as she moved on to the next cross-thread.
Coping with the close-up image has been harder, but it's my aversion therapy :).
Found this guy while out waymarking this morning. The webs were everywhere and so amazing.
The waymark was WM2CTA in the Quilt Shop category, which has nothing to do with the photo, but that's where I found it.

the web... some of us use it as a tool and are in command of it. others, get so wrapped up in it that it becomes their downfall.

The Heidi Weber house was completed after Le Corbusier's death and is now a (rarely open) museum and gallery. Located on the shores of Lake Zurich, it is the last building designed by Le Corbusier. Le Corbusier made great use of prefabricated steel elements together with multi-colored enameled plates fitted to the central core, and above the complex he designed a free-floating roof to keep the house protected from both the rain and the sun.
I can never see a cobweb and not think of my dear friend Annie which always goes to prove to me that people may pass away but very really leave us, I like to think she is in every little jewel on this web.
