Literally
Game over for the WeatherTech Racing Porsche 911 RSR. Apparently it made some contact in the rear after only a few moments of the start, which caused the fire.
I was standing in an empty lot just to the left off the grandstands at the exit of turn 11 to get some nice shots of the cars ripping out of the turn onto the straight. Was just about to move to another position when I decided to do some panning shots.
This was probably my shot of the day. Talk about being in the right place, right time and having a little bit of luck for sure.

Porsche 911 RSR - 19
Apparently, they will be fielding 2 cars at the upcoming Petit. Sadly, I will be missing this event again and what’s even sadder, is over the span of 2 seasons, I saw this car for a total of 20 minutes and it will not compete in 2021 as the GTLM category is dissolved 😐
Really hoping for plenty of shots from those here on Flickr that will be attending.
Made sure to also give the old 7D a good workout while testing the EOS-R. I will say that the image quality I was able to get from this was almost identical to shooting in Crop Mode on the EOS-R5, even with the old 400 F5.6
I know the 7D mkII has a few more pixels (20 vs 17) but it does not have the low-pass AA filter of the R5.
I'll continue to review and revisit and compare but as I stated in the previously posted images of the EOS-R from the same event, quality glass is what is making the difference.
