I visited the Des Plaines, IL Kmart a few months back, while in Chicago. I was particularly curious about the interior improvements to the store decor, as well as the addition of the K-Fresh and service paint departments.

The store is around 90,000 sq. ft--not enormous--but a good size for Kmart. It seems to do pretty well in this densely populated neighborhood, and even has a local auto-service center operating in the former Penske Auto space.
