Why is it that some people seem to be able to bring out the best in you...

and others bring out the worst?

I bet we all go through it.

If you could step outside of yourself and see it it would be as plain as day.

Getting older and getting wiser is a pretty cool thing.

Being comfortable in my own skin is a gift.

But understanding things that should have always been so obvious is a really great place to be.

Each of those grey hairs in my beard are like little diplomas I think when I look in the mirror sometimes.

With them has come this understanding of life and the simple truths that seemed so elusive at times in the effervescence of my youth.

We'll never understand everything.

We'll never understand everyone.

So many questions really have no answers.

A certain freedom comes from the ability to let go of the incessant desire sometimes to pursue those answers relentlessly.

Sometimes the questions just shouldn't be.

We're all on this extraordinary journey...

I mean... we assumed this mass on this orbital sphere that conglomerated it the perfect spot relative to the energy giving star that is the motor of everything human and we whip around it living in some improbable miracle of miracles and we worry about the most stupid shit sometimes.

Sometimes I like to think about how in the hell a pile of stardust in a vast and probably infinite universe came to be me.

It's better than worrying about how I'm gonna pay the bills...

when some stupid legal battle's gonna be over...

or what's up with the Kardashians.

We are living a fucking miracle every second of every day.

We are all so special and so unique.

We're all whipping around that star on the same journey and we should probably as a race of beings try and look at the magnificence of that every once in a while.

You wanna know something that should make you feel good?

When your mom and your dad were having that moment of romantic passion that resulted in your conception...

after having carefully discussed your existence and responsibly planning for your birth of course...

the moment that your universe was created...

your own personal 'big bang'...

At that moment about seven billion spermatozoa were in a race to the get to the nucleus that would become you.

Seven billion!

That's just about the population of the entire planet Earth!

Out of those seven billion eager little speed racers only one of them wanted to be you so much that it beat out the other 6,999,999,999 contestants in the race of creation that was run on that day.

There could only be one winner!

You ain't just unique.

You're not even one in a milion.

Every time you find yourself gettin' thrown around by this thing called life...

every time you're takin some lumps and some hits...

You just remember that you're better than that...

you're one in seven billion.

At some point in your life you gotta sit yourself down and congratulate yourself for that little feat you!

Take yourself out to a nice dinner or something.

What a miracle it all is.

You beautiful pile of energy and stardust.

You rock.

You so totally rock the freakin' universe.

Winnah winnah lobstah dinnah!

How about we all enjoy the victory lap called life a little more huh?

The Best of You

Are you ready for this?

Yeah boy!

It's Friday.

Fuh-Fuh-Fuh-Friday!

And you know what that means.

That means it's time for Friday-Love!

You feelin' it?

Because I am.

I've gone ten days without needing an attorney!

That's a personal best for a long time!

It's been a pretty wicked week.

I'm so ready for the love.

I'm open to receiving the love and the light that this day's gonna bring to all of us.

It is freakin' gorgeous out there.

I've got all my battle gear ready for the NATO protests.

The chips are clean and reformatted.

The glass in top shape.

The batteries charged.

I got the playbooks from both sides.

I'm on it.

I hope I get some great closeup shots of some very passionate people.

I'm hoping I don't see any more of that 'mob action' that I was treated to last Saturday night.

Spirited protest yes...

but for the record I don't wanna see anyone gettin' hurt or any heads gettin' cracked by the CPD.

Lets all be cool.

Of course if it's not...

I'm gonna go in for the shot and I won't be apologetic about it.

I'm just hoping to see a big range of human emotions and passion...

a lot of love and light would be just fine with me.

I hope you've got some amazing plans with your friends, your family or your snugglebug this weekend.

Let's celebrate all that's good and right and get summer off to a great start.

You guys enjoy yourselves and the company that you're with...

feed your soul and nourish your spirits...

let your freak out and try to stay outta trouble.

Feel it all and feel it all real good.

Friday-Love!
