Cling to each rock
The wind is not on our side
Not on our side
Not on our side
Pull yourself together, it’s not much further
From the top on high
The smoke is finding its way to the sky
Not a place I want to be, not a place I want to be
She sits pale skinned in a fire light
One message to change her mind
One message to change her life forever
One message to change her mind
He climbs over the top no breath, no breath
In his weak sick lungs, she starts to run to the edge
At last it’s over
Cling to each rock
The wind is not on our side
She’s waiting, she's waiting
She’s waiting, she's waiting
She’s waiting, she's waiting
She’s waiting, she's waiting....

Aurora went head to head with a full moon on this night and I think the full moon won. This was about as strong as the northern lights got on this night.
The dunnock (Prunella modularis) is a small passerine, or perching bird, found throughout temperate Europe and into Asian Russia. Dunnocks have also been successfully introduced into New Zealand. It is by far the most widespread member of the accentor family, which otherwise consists of mountain species. Other common names of the dunnock include the hedge accentor, hedge sparrow, or hedge warbler.
A European robin-sized bird, the dunnock typically measures 13.5–14 cm (5.3–5.5 in) in length. It possesses a streaked back, somewhat resembling a small house sparrow. Like that species, the dunnock has a drab appearance which may have evolved to avoid predation. It is brownish underneath, and has a fine pointed bill. Adults have a grey head, and both sexes are similarly coloured.[9] Unlike any similar sized small brown bird, dunnocks exhibit frequent wing flicking, especially when engaged in territorial disputes or when competing for mating rights.
The main call of the dunnock is a shrill, persistent tseep along with a high trilling note, which betrays the bird's otherwise inconspicuous presence. The song is rapid, thin and tinkling, a sweet warble which can be confused with that of the Eurasian wren, but is shorter and weaker.
A view from the top of Humphrey Head during the "anticyclonic gloom".
.Anticyclonic gloom is a weather phenomenon that occurs when high pressure, or an anticyclone, traps moisture near the Earth's surface, causing a layer of low clouds, fog, or mist. This can happen in autumn and winter when the winds are light and the sun is weak, making it difficult for the clouds to lift and clear.
Humphrey Head is a limestone outcrop situated south of the village of Allithwaite in Cumbria, England. It is whale-back-shaped and accessible for walkers, giving views over Morecambe Bay to Lancaster, Morecambe, Heysham and over the Leven estuary to Ulverston. There is an Ordnance Survey trig point at the top.
Humphrey Head is the traditional location for the killing of the last wolf in England, in about 1390. Folklore has it that the wolf descended the fells from near Coniston where it had caused havoc among the sheep flocks. After it attacked a child in Cark the country-folk chased it to the end of Humphrey Head where it was killed with pikes while hiding among the rocks.
Aspens and Dome, Eastern Sierra. © Copyright 2021 G Dan Mitchell – all rights reserved.
A line of autumn aspen trees in front of a rocky dome, Eastern Sierra Nevada.
This photograph comes from a morning of Eastern Sierra exploration into an area that I would not typically go to for fall color photography — not because there is no fall color there to photograph, but because it isn’t exactly the most accessible place to find it. For sure, there are easier places to find the color nearby. We put the 4Runner in 4WD and slowly tracked up toward the base of the range, eventually gaining enough elevation that there were aspens, the sort that live in harmony with surrounding high desert foliage of rabbitbrush and sage.
It was a beautiful morning of the sort that you’ll only find here in autumn. A weak storm has been through a few days earlier, and there was a dusting of snow on the highest Sierra crest peaks and behind us, across Owens Valley, on the White Mountains. Despite the recent storm the morning warmed nicely, and the sunlight was warm as we photographed. Here a small row of aspens, midway through the color change process, stood against a small, rocky dome, and beyond that in the haze-obscured distance were higher hills rising toward the summit of the range.

Being introduced to the totality of reality is not without consequences for one’s relationship with it. If we do not perceive its meaning, reality does not move us to the point of becoming interesting to us. This is the origin of nihilism, of that position that ends in boredom, because nothing arouses my interest. We thought that reality could go on being attractive even without a meaning, reduced to mere appearances, and that young people could be interested in transmitting mere notions and data, without communicating a theory about meaning. But this did not happen. With the reduction of reality to its immediate aspect, to appearances, a new form of nihilism has appeared, a weak, jovial, cheerful one, in which desire is not awakened, curiosity is not awakened. Now, only he who manages to arouse the self from this feebleness will be able to make a contribution to the dramatic situation in which we find ourselves.

Something #nice: I saw a small #bee hanging in the cat's net on the balcony. Was so weak that it fell directly into my hand. As a good host, of course a little bit of sugar water was offered - was also gratefully accepted
Weak sauce winter, so far. We’re up to 265 consecutive days with no measurable snow in Salt Lake City. There’s a little up in the mountains, but not enough.

Helianthus debilis is a species of sunflower known by the common names cucumberleaf sunflower, beach sunflower, weak sunflower, East Florida beach sunflower, and East Coast dune sunflower. It is native to the United States, where it can be found along the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts. It is known elsewhere as an introduced species, such as South Africa, Australia, Taiwan, Slovakia, and Cuba. This species may be an annual or perennial herb. It is usually perennial but it may last only one season in climates where freezes occur. It can reach a height of 2 meters. The stem grows from a taproot and may grow erect or decumbent. It can also spread along the ground, becoming a dense groundcover. The leaves are usually arranged alternately and are variable in shape and size. The largest are up to 14 centimeters long by 13 wide. The showy inflorescence is a single flower head or an array of two or three heads. There are up to 30 lance-shaped phyllaries each up to 1.7 centimeters long. There are up to 20or 21ray florets, each up to 2.3 centimeters long. They are usually yellow in the wild, but cultivars have been bred to bear whitish, reddish, or orange florets. The center of the head is filled with many red, yellowish, or purplish disc florets. The fruit, a cypsela, is roughly 2 or 3 millimeters long. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helianthus_debilis
The Lower Goodameavy Bridge over the River Meavy at the south -western edge of Dartmoor.
The title of the photo was taken from the sign.
This is not the route I usually take to the moor, but road works prevented me taking my normal route via Cadover Bridge. .. It made an interesting change!
"No more turning away
From the weak and the weary
No more turning away
From the coldness inside
Just a world that we all must share
It's not enough just to stand and stare
Is it only a dream that there'll be
No more turning away?"

This is a story of ex beverage factory
Ride from famous glory to ebb tide
Once Maraska was Croatian pride,
Now it is forgotten like an old hooker.
Today it looks spooky as Alice Cooper,
My photo is artistic onlooker.
It’s a perfect spooky space
For making Hollywood horror movies
Factory facade is like an Iggy Pop scary face.
Location can be cool place for filming
New part of a cult Danish movie Pusher.
I can fell smell of greenback if James Wan make remake
Of old dog horror movie The Pack.
Perhaps someone could rearrange factory to horror house - Bates motel.
If it wasn't in so weak condition
Then it could be a cool place for children game hide & seek
Now it’s maybe too late for renovation
I wish to thanks to this abandoned factory
That gave me inexhaustible inspiration.
Maraska became mystic & pessimistic ruin
People laziness and negligence made it undoing.
P.s. In the future I will upload photo of dark room on third floor, on this image you can see windows from dark room in the middle. In this picture you see how back facade look terrible from backyard. You also saw view from third floor and staircase in previous photographs シ.
I recommend you songs: Alice Cooper - Pick Up the Bones, Iggy Pop - Love Transfusion, The Dudes Of Wrath - Shocker.
