Although a rather weak thunderstorm, the skies were spectaculair on this late afternoon/early evening in May.

I used a strong ND filter, to capture some lightningbolts, but it didn't work out. Almost no lightningbolts and too far away....

This was already the second shelfcloud of the year. A few day's earlier a much more active thunderstorm crossed the western part of The Netherlands. Unfortunately I couldn't chase, because of an illness.....

Right behind where I was standing is Viburnum Falls. The water was pretty low at this point in the season, so the falls were pretty weak but still worth the extra hike from Pine Point Rapids.

A bank of heavy wildfire smoke mostly blocks the sun and inundates the Pend Oreille River valley and Selkirk Range. This smoke is from the Spokane fires 50 miles to the south.

Gosh the sun has been so rare during this winter season and even when it does show itself, it is more often a weak affair and of short duration.

Lincoln County-Washington State

Although faint, she was still captivating from Northern Lincoln County. Ol' Aurora done near had me leaving near 10:45 pm, but noticed a lil' smoggy-like scene creeping to the left of the rising moon. Maybe it was my eyes [finally adjusting to the darkness]?? Maybe Ol' Aurora was a lil' weak and needed some motivational energy from the moon?? I am not certain, but she came through.

This photo was first imported into Adobe Lightroom Classic; the shadows were boosted so you will be able to see the nature of the highway and mountains better, the color temperature cooled down by 500 degrees Kelvin to bring out the true blues I've seen while hanging along State Route 21, and very subtle exposure adjustments. Next, the photo was then imported into Topaz's DeNoise AI to remedy the photo's noise courtesy of the higher ISO. Lastly, the photo was imported into Adobe Photoshop; the photo was resized to a resolution of 12000 x 8000.

Taken from last summer archives, this golden sunrise warmed me, been extremely under the weather, feeling a little myself again, but haven't shot a thing in two weeks, it is about got me down, but not out! Taking it slow on my recovery, for still feeling a little weak.
