The latest in my wayfinder series where I create in a new-to-me location. For this image I knew I wanted to explore a place that's been on my list for a long time. Highgate Cemetery in London.
It's a truly beautiful cemetery that was built in the early 1800's and is now the final resting place of over 150,000 souls. It is filled with beautiful architecture, interesting grave stones, and makes for a really peaceful and fascinating place to spend a few hours.
The entrance to the Egyptian Avenue was particularly decorative and made for an excellent spot to take a few photos to use as a background for my "welcome to Halloween" image. I included a curious fox in the finished image, one that followed me around for a bit of my walk through Highgate.

After Rey gets the sith wayfinder she travels with Luke's red five X-Wing fighter to Exegol, the sith planet on which is Palpatine. She enters the old sith temple and meet Palpatine near the sith throne. Palpatine, which is attached on a life supporting machine, explains her that she have to kill him to become the emperor of the galaxy because he is her grandfather. Of course Rey doesn't want that so she can't kill the emperor with her lightsaber. During that conversation Ben Solo aka Kylo Ren arrives on Exegol too. On Exegol, Ben have to kill the knights of Ren to get to Rey. At the same time Palpatine orders his royal guards to kill Rey, but they aren't a problem for her and after she kills the guards Ben arrives in the throne room. Rey and Ben, both with their blue lightsaber, stand against the emperor Palpatine.
Can the 2 jedis beat the old sith master and rescue the galaxy?
My first creation in 2020 shows the final battle of the last movie in the Skywalker Saga. You can see the big sith throne, the emperor attached on his life supporting machine and some of his royal guards laying on the cold, stone ground of the old sith temple. I got inspired for the sith throne from @ , but after watching the movie it was hard to estimate how big the throne really is, so I did some research and found some pics. Unfortunately I can't say it is the right size of it, but I'm happy with the result and I think it turns out well.
I hope you like this creation and of course I would be pleased to get some feedback from you.

Part of the Medieval Guilds & Crafts Trail in Beverley, East Yorkshire.
This sculpture celebrates Creelers who along with porters loaded and unloaded the ships that came to the Beck. They carried goods to and from the town centre. The stone used to build the Minster and St. Mary’s came to Beverley that way.

Although members the [CPKF Rangers] Wayfinder platoon often recieve interesting remarks about their cute medium blue berets, no one can question on their ability to colour coordinate their field accessories.
SET 4 – West Point Wal-Mart
Spinning around for a second, this view looks at the intersection of the left-side actionway with the rear actionway. Not only is the Sporting Goods department sign (somewhat) visible hanging along the wall in the background, we also get a really good look at one of the Pre-Impact décor’s directional wayfinder signs there near the top center of the image.
There are several interesting things to point out with that sign, such as how its placards are skinny in design (to match the skinny hanging pendants of the décor package), and how it’s a fully three-dimensional cube (Project Impact’s earliest iterations switched over to a hollow cube, while its later versions as well as its successors ultimately just wound up going with a new, flat, two-sided design). What I find most interesting to point out, however, is that “Pickup in front of store” placard.
Recall my theory from a few photos back (see here) that Pickup was originally in the back of this store, before later being moved to the front. That would mean this placard – and all of those like it, throughout the salesfloor – was custom-made to fit these outdated directories, given that this décor was long out of production! I have to wonder if this was maybe the sole and singular store to get such a treatment, in fact. (Even if my theory is false, in either scenario Pickup was still only introduced years after this décor package debuted, so these placards would still have to have been custom-made, most likely. You know me: I love attention to detail like that.)

WEEK 40 – Hdo WM, Post-Remodel, Set IV
Here’s a random shot from within produce, taking a look at one of many “T-signs” placed above the produce bins. I’m proud of how this one turned out :) I always like shots like this that focus on one thing in great detail while applying a soft blur to the rest of the image… but I don’t even know the name of this technique, much less how to actually apply it on purpose, haha! This was just a happy accident, I’m positive XD
Besides simply liking the shot, though, I also have to mention that I quite like these T-signs as well! This is another element that Walmart completely revamped circa 2015 or so, since their produce departments didn’t used to have wayfinders like this. I also remember that the initial T-signs in the very early BD2.0 remodels simply had plain icons (i.e. just the white shape outlines, with no coloring) for these signs; the coloring-in effect came later. Personally, I like the colored-in effect myself (especially its deliberate sketch-like style), but I know that some of y’all, such as [https://www.flickr.com/photos/l_dawg2000/], prefer the original style. So I’ll ask you (yes, YOU) – which look do you prefer? :)

With the installation of those new Pickup signs directing customers to the counter’s new location in the front of the store, the existing placards promoting Pickup as being in the back of the store were removed from all of the wayfinder signs, such as the one seen here, which is located right at the front of the grocery department. I specifically took this shot to match the same angle as these ones – be sure to note all the changes between the trio :)
And on that note, yes – there is indeed one major change visible in this shot that I haven’t even mentioned yet!! For that matter, there have been a number of additional major changes since this photo was taken, too (including one that my mom told me about just mere hours ago!). Apparently, all this Pickup brouhaha was just the beginning XD Look for coverage of those other recent events (hopefully) next spring…

WEEK 29 – TRUBeContinued (I)
From beyond the Playmobil department, here's a look down the store's center actionway. That's the store's main entrance that you see straight ahead, off in the distance. As you can tell from those wayfinder signs overhead, board games were located off to my left from this point of view, and the LEGO department was off to my right.
I don't think we wound up buying anything on either visit to this TRU, even though we normally always try to do so when I'm there for photo-taking. There just wasn't anything we needed, not even a game. Although my dad did briefly entertain a large military plane toy!

OK, not going to spend all four photos of this batch trash-talking this décor. Let's see what we can find good about it (yeah, most of us don't have that kind of time to spend looking, haha)! I do like that the wayfinder sign up there has black trim at least, and the lil' Pickup sign attached at the bottom is even better in all-black. At least this last version of BD 2.X went out with a little bit of dignity :P

Just when I was beginning to give up hope as to the new front end Pickup counter being completed before I had to head off to college for the fall semester, lo and behold, I entered the store on August 2nd to see this :) This photo is just a preview of what’s to come (mainly focused on another of those new wayfinder signs here, as a matter of fact)… you’ll just have to stay tuned for the close-up photos of the finished product! Those will go up two weeks from now, in our final update set of this (kinda long-running!) summer 2018 Hernando Walmart Pickup-counter-relocation-slash-Grocery-Pickup-implementation-and-store-expansion project saga…

Il libricino 📜, leggermente sovradimensionato rispetto alla minifigure di #Rey, è velocissimo da realizzare:
- Cercare nel web le immagini dei veri #SacriTestiJedi, provenienti dal libro "#TheRiseOfSkywalker: The Visual Dictionary";
- Stampare queste immagini in bianco e nero, scegliendo il formato più piccolo possibile;
- Ritagliare e rifinire i bordi bruciacchiandoli (facendo molta attenzione a non bruciarsi le dita );
- Montare e piegare;
- Posizionare e Fotografare.
Volendo, è possibile utilizzare un piccolo pennello e del tè per colorare le pagine e raggiungere un diverso effetto cromatico.

The little book 📜, slightly oversized compared to #Rey's minifigure, is very fast to make:
- Search the web for images of the real #SacredJediTexts from the book "#TheRiseOfSkywalker: The Visual Dictionary";
- Print these images in black and white, choosing the smallest possible size;
- Cut out and finish the edges by scorching them (being very careful not to burn your fingers );
- Assemble and fold;
- Place and Shot.
If you want, you can use a small brush and some tea to color the pages and achieve a different color effect.

Last but not least, stepping out into the mall proper for this one. Figured it would be a good idea for posterity to capture at least one of the wayfinder signs featuring Sears, seeing as how Sears wouldn’t be around to be found soon enough! Also note the interesting Cheesecake Factory placard on the left: clearly not original to the mall, although I suppose they could’ve made a worse attempt to match the existing style of the signage…

WEEK 51 – Oxford Walmart, During the Remodel
I'm honestly not quite sure what we're looking at here. I mean, obviously it's the Do It Yourself department, as evidenced by that overhead sign. But behind it there's also one of those four-way wayfinder signs, and that thing's throwing me off. Like, is this actually an actionway here, and some merchandise has simply been thrown atop it due to the pending remodel? Or is the wayfinder sign simply misplaced, and if so, how and why did it get to that position? I'm so confused. It doesn't help that all of the aisles in this store seem clear and wide enough to be actionway-sized on their own, too.

WEEK 23 – TRUbble BRUing (II)
From a few steps outside the previously-shown LEGO aisle (ascertainable from the overhead wayfinder sign marked Lego), here's a shot looking down the middle actionway. I'm not 100% positive I'm in the exact spot, but if not, I'm at least very close to dead center in the salesfloor at this vantage point! Meanwhile, I do know for a fact that that's the rear actionway visible off in the background :P

WEEK 21 – Manifest Closing
I mentioned to y’all in my original photoset from here how the store staff had placed these cool, creative hand-drawn signs for each genre of music within the used CD department as wayfinders. Back then, I only shared one or two of them with you (www.flickr.com/photos/130271900@N03/46726332994/in/album-...)… but during the closure, since the store was going away, I wanted to be sure to capture them all for posterity. So, without further ado, here they all are! From left to right, top to bottom, we’ve got rock… world… dance… country… Latin… hip-hop… R&B… metal… and punk. As a bonus, in the top center image is the generic “used CD” placard that would otherwise have been the only style of wayfinder throughout the entire department, leaving customers helpless as they try to hunt for a particular type of music. Again, kudos to the Manifest team for making these!

The first dusting of snow changes things on the campus. Here's another shot from my walk yesterday.
This Inukshuk is one of the landmarks of Appleby College and represents the rich heriatage of our country. Inukshuks were used as wayfinders/path markers by our far northern aboriginal people. They are becoming a revered symbol of Canada.
