Macro Mondays 'water' theme.
The temperatures here have been draining my energy and inspiration but this morning I braved the heat of the garden for a few minutes to get this shot for the water theme.
The sprig of buddleia & droplet together measure 4.5 cm
I composed this image while visiting Alberta Canada's Bow Falls Provincial Park. A skimpy winter snow mass has resulted in low water levels in the Bow River and reduced waterfall flows. Still impressive, though.

Saturday Self-Challenge: Fast shutter Speed
So sorry for the late entry, but it was a challenge to get the time I wanted to experiment. Figuring out how I was going to clearly demonstrate the effects of fast shutter speed was my other challenge. The result is this humble submission. I really liked experimenting with the faster speed, and I will keep practicing!
Have a wonderful weekend, friends, and a great Labor Day holiday to my fellow Americans!
The "Blue Water Maiden" resides in a small park beside the Blue Water Bridge. She welcomes the blue waters of Lake Huron to the St. Clair River, and the sailors and travelers who enjoy the blue waters.
Donated in 1964 by E.W.Kiefer.
Magical things happen when you add water. Water helps creates energy and motion and adds a bit of something special. I got drenched playing in the water but feel alive and happy. I am hoping you can find a little magic moment in your day as well!
Water Tower Scheveningen
This water tower was designed in Eclectic style by architect Bert Brouwer and civil engineer Theodor Stang and was built in 1874 by the Hague Duinwaterleidingbedrijf (now called Dunea). The design of the octagonal tower is an example of Eclecticism: the architect used motifs borrowed from Romanesque architecture and the Renaissance. The brick and partly bluestone facades with vertical niches and checkered round-arch friezes have corner pilasters embossed in brick with carved Corinthian capitals.
The water tower is located in the Oostduinen near Scheveningen and was built because they started with the extraction of water in the dunes. The tower has a height of over 48 meters and has two reservoirs (1,000 and 1,200 m3 respectively). Due to this content, this tower can store the most water of all water towers in South Holland.
This water tower is still in use and is listed as a national monument. The tower is the first example in the Netherlands where the water reservoir was 'wrapped' with a brick wall. A copper domed roof rests on top of the tower.
The hood was renovated in 1990 and the exterior was restored in 1994/1995.
Thank you to everybody that views, comments and for favouring my images. Always greatly appreciated.

ABOUT THIS IMAGE
"Water Play"
Moonstone Beach, Cambria is a great place for shopping, gallery visits, exploration, walking, and for that matter any photography. Wide expanses of sandy beaches and rock outcroppings as well as many species of wildlife. Of course, never forget the restaurants. This day I had just finished a day sitting the Gallery at Marina Square. There was still a bit of light left, so I headed north where I could get some practice with ND Filters. I used several different 3,6 and 10 stop ND Filters experimenting for different effects. I hope you enjoy. Thank you for looking.
This is a photo I took on a visit to the park Bluehendes Barock at Ludwigsburg. I went there to take some photos of the tulips before their season is over but then I discovered that the fountains in the palace gardens made quite interesting photo subjects too and I started to experiment with different shutter speeds. I like how dynamic this one turned out.
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is one of the world's most serious water weeds because of its aggressive fast-growing nature. Plants can form dense mats that reduce the water quality, change water flows and increase sediment.
Another shot from the lake called Kilen. No wind that evening. Seldom here in the western part of DK.
Vibrant little beauty from a pond!
Thanks to my friend MrClean he says this is called
a Queen of Siam lily. Thank you!
A morning shot in a quiet morning but the composition of the boats and flow of the clouds show a chaos.
