An intimate look at Burney Falls in Northern California. The waterfall was raging and flowing ever so fast, yet with the trick of the camera it feels like its gently finding the course downward.

After reading numerous bits of advice about water drop photography, I decided to try my hand at it. Over one hundred photos later, I found that I had captured this floral water drop as it headed for a splash landing. Although I've tried to replicate this exact experience, it will have to remain in my heart and mind. I suppose that is what is beautiful about life. Every event is rather special in its own way. It's interesting how photography can turn one into a philosopher.

A water sprite (also called a water fairy or water faery) is a general term for an elemental spirit associated with water, according to alchemist Paracelsus. Water sprites are said to be able to breathe water or air, and in some cases, can fly. They are mostly harmless unless threatened.

“Skies are crying,

I am watching,

Catching teardrops in my hands.

Only silence, as it's ending,

Like we never had a chance.

Do you have to make me feel

Like there's nothing left of me?”

The water has to be the right depth for this type of view - the terrain is exposed just the right amount while still leaving enough water for reflections.

GPS is not the exact spot of the shot.

Water reflection art made by nature

Small, sturdy songbird in the family Muscicapidae.

The bird is found in Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Their preferred habitats are streams, nullahs and rivers with boulders that are shaded, as well as vegetation near riverbanks. Streams with higher populations of insects such as mayflies appear to be preferred.

They are typically found at relatively high elevations, with the ones living in the Himalayas seen between 2000 m and 4100 m. However, they tend to descend to lower altitudes during the winter.

It's been awhile since I have played with water & oil. So fun!

Thanks for views, comments and favs :)

A very simple photo. I liked the contrast between the green of the leaves and the dark blue of the water. Stockholm.

More and more, I find my photography moving - moving away from the paralyzed shutter of sharpness, moving away from the gear-trapped trapeze, and moving back into the quiet poetry of walking through and looking at and learning the backyard of my desert, my mountains, my rivers.

A pretty spot in Ricketts Glen ... captured low to the flow.

A short break on the river Arno. An enchanting moment enchanted by the sound of running water a few centimeters beneath my feet, that wonderful view that can be seen in every corner of my home town !!!!

Water beauty. Water lily

Water levels were a bit high, helps the shot.

Bit of lens flare in the centre.. it is what it is :-)

Water reflection at Belval, Luxembourg

Watering The Plants wasn’t really one of my favorite pastimes over the years. Now with some changes in my life I look at certain daily chores as enjoyable and even rewarding. Watering all the flowers plus our newest Rose Bushes really isn’t as bad as I made it out to be perhaps. I’m really enjoying the various colors throughout all the garden area. Thanks for viewing my work. Showing Gratitude and Kindness really makes my day a bit more enjoyable.
