Love green eyes but these are spooky.

a heron in the morning sun after a cold frosty night ..... ein Graureiher beobachtet die Weiher ...... ich hatte schon gerechtet damit, einen Graureiher oder Silberreiher anzutreffen und habe deshalb bei meiner Gassirunde das 150-600 mitgeschleppt .....

Fun, trivia information:

The caption is a spin off from the book..........

Jonathan Livingston Seagull, written by Richard Bach, is a fable in novella form about a seagull learning about life and flight, and a homily about self-perfection. It was first published in 1970 as "Jonathan Livingston Seagull — a story." By the end of 1972, over a million copies were in print, Reader's Digest had published a condensed version, and the book had reached the top of the New York Times Best Seller list, where it remained for 38 weeks. In 1972 and 1973, the book topped the Publishers Weekly list of bestselling novels in the United States. In 2014 the book was reissued as Jonathan Livingston Seagull: The Complete Edition, which added a 17-page fourth part to the story. Wikipedia

You are looking at a handwound 17-jewel pocket watch movement in a dead cheap "Polaris" pocket watch from the Yantai Watch & Clock Factory.

These watches were sold for the breathtaking amount of 75 CNY (equals about 10.40 EUR or 11.76 USD) as souvenirs at the Yantai Watch & Clock Museum.

Considering how much gunk is inside this movement, it is no wonder the watch is that cheap...

First person commenting with where the watcher is gets a film "care package", shipped anywhere in the world.

Always a treat watching them up close.

Much less processed than you might think, it was taken at twilight with available light. I was once again in a car in Manhattan waiting for the Holland Tunnel, and I looked up and saw this lone solitary visitor from who knows where, staring down on us from a second floor window, apparently keeping a silent but intense vigil, watching for who knows what.

Vas'ka the cat is watching the garden sitting on the refrigerator.

Better to see in bigger size!

Thank you all for visits, favs and comments, it's greatly appreciated!

Happy Eyes of March!

Australian Magpies are very vigilant birds, the see everything and miss very little. They keep watch on behalf of all the birds who visit my yard, They raise the alarm if there is danger, and sound the all clear when the danger is past. They have calls for strangers, cats and raptors; Magpies are the unsung local heroes, and truly beautiful birds. Here is a link to a video of a woman who Magpies seem to like, I hope some of you may enjoy it www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vn5sHpp3Ks

It's serious business.
