Someone is waiting behind an unlocked door
Grey circles overhead empties on the floor
The cracks in the walls have grown too long
The slow hand is dragging on
Afraid to meet the dawn
Ezekiel 5:12 “A third of you will come to death from disease, wasting away among you through need of food; a third will be put to the sword round about you; and a third I will send away to every wind, letting loose a sword after them.”
I normally add a small description here, but I think for this I'll let the picture say what I can't.
"Nuclear Waste Land" 1983
Another image with a 'Dark and Light in our World' flavour. This is definitely a dark image .. enhanced by the extreme grain of Infra-red film ! A washed up barrel of .. what ?!? Oil / Chemicals / Nuclear waste .. who knows. .. !! In the distance, a 'Martello' tower .. built to defend against an invasion from Napolean. Dark stormy clouds and foreboding cliffs rise to the right while sombre looking waves roll in from the left. And in Kent .. 'The Garden of England' of all places.
Don Quichotte entirely made of waste material in 2014 by Gérard Larock a Belgian artist. This artwork was exposed in the village of Han-sur-Lesse in Belgium (2019).
It touches a topic that is still very much in the news today.
Smooth sailing till you get to Basin then the railroad starts...
Union Pacific 7865 and 6310 drag thirteen thousand tons of coal past the oddball lights at Minneola Road after spending the better part of the morning in the hole at Basin (Just under five hours if you want to be exact). As this train which was suppose to be my afternoon entertainment finally gets lit into Yermo, to more or less spend the rest of the day waiting to add power for it's trip over the BNSF since the Pier S and Fresno Detour burned though the captive helpers....
This train has a companion video available, follow the rabbit hole here: youtu.be/2dNuyk47Op8
You said I was your beat, what the fuck!

the behr cottage white was the right choice.
Deuteronomy 32:10 “He came to him in the waste land, in the unpeopled waste of sand: putting his arms round him and caring for him, he kept him as the light of his eye.”
Humberheads Peatlands National Nature Reserve, near Wroot, North Lincolnshire. Whilst the peatlands and pools are a feature of the reserve there is a lot of Silver Birch woodland. I was on my way into the reserve when the edge caught my attention...the striking white bark against the darker background. It's a blue hour photo, I waited for the sun to rise over my shoulder in the hope of more colour but it rose into a cloud. That said I like the cooler colour and abstract nature of the photo.
The N&W 611 wasn't wasting any time getting through Reidsville, NC or any other place for that matter. It was all I could to to keep up with it this time...

Jeremiah 4:23 “I looked to the land, and lo, waste and void, And unto the heavens, and their light is not.”
Connecticut was graced with its first major snowfall of the year the day before Halloween. While some places north of the state line saw accumulations up to two inches here in the northeastern section of the Nutmeg state it was heavy and wet but didn't build up too much. But the big heavy flakes made for some interesting shooting conditions and equally interesting working conditions for conductor Pat Schmidt.
Having just come down from Palmer with New England Central train 608,his day is just about done. He has to do a bit of switching here to spot and pull Willimantic Waste Paper Inc., the NECR's busiest customer in the area. Once that work is done they will pull down just a couple hundred yards and park on the main beside their office that sits at about MP 29.5 of the Palmer Sub and call it a day.

Went out to take stormy sunset photos. The sunset part didn't pan out like I was hoping for. I did happen upon someones salmon waste.
The historic buildings of the Upernavik Museum at Upernavik, oldest museum in Greenland, adjoin the municipal waste disposal facility.
I cannot abide wasting food; it is so lacking in imagination, will, and sense of responsibility.
The supermarket was dumping these avocados because they have gone too soft to sell (too soft for whom?). So I grabbed one to use for my salad.
This avo has come all the way from Peru. 20% of the emissions from growing it are made of the transportation, so putting it in the bin will be more than a waste: i find it offensive.
Sure, it wasn't the greenest fruit, but smashing it and mixing in a chiffonade of scallions, garlic, cayenne pepper, and some lemon juice has made this into a delicious accompaniment for crisp lettuce, or whatever.
And the farmer in Peru has my gratitude for growing such a wonderful fruit.
