Looking up at the Monument from the Floral Library. I think I saw someone else take a very similar shot recently, but can't find it again.

Sunday morning blue hour peak bloom cherry blossoms - before the rain & wind! Unfortunately, I understand that many blooms are now down because of the rain and wind we had on Monday.

Love this view of the Washington Monument when the blooms look great. I've taken this composition a few times in past years. This is the clearest reflection of the monument I've managed.

NBC's #RingsAcrossAmerica is a large set of Olympic rings that they are transporting across America (25 states, 8,000 miles) in advance of the Olympics. Here, they are on the National Mall.

The sunrises and sunsets for the past month or so have been very beautiful. Waking up early to see the painting in the sky is worth it.

This taken from the Lincoln Memorial. The low lying clouds picked up the lights of the city.

Washington Monument - Washington DC

The Washington monument in Washington, DC, USA. You can clearly see the point where construction was interrupted in the 19th century and then later resumed with slightly different colored marble blocks.

Fireworks by the Washington Monument, as viewed from the north side of the Capitol. The bright light at the top is from the light for the Capitol concert, and a flag is also visible at the top. The circles are from water drops on my lens from the rain.

The Washington Monument is the tallest structure in Washington DC. The 555-foot tall obelisk took almost 40 years to complete.
