Note the squirrel is a native British red and not an imported grey.

The Dixie Highway was planned out in December 1914 to connect the Midwest with the South, from Chicago to Miami.
By the mid-1920s, the project was largely completed with a network of roads interconnected across 10 states with more than 5,000 miles of paved, bricked road. But, by 1927, Dixie Highway became part of the US Route System, and was therefore, mostly abandoned. But, a portion of it still remains in remote Florida, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 20, 2005.
“It’s one of the oldest roads in America,” according to the historian.
Upon on my arrival, I started from south toward north, before I entered, there is a warning: “Travel at your own risk.” And another prohibiting the removal of the bricks in the road. Doing so, it says, warrants prosecution “to the fullest extent of the law.”
The historic stretch of Old Dixie Highway is 10 miles long, and would recommend to drive slowly as there are some thick soft-sand on the road that could cause slide off from the road if driving too fast.
Interesting fact: The brick was manufactured by the Graves Shale Brick Company in Birmingham, Alabama, belonging to a slave-owning man who fought for the Confederacy. It took 237,600 such bricks to build just 1 mile of road, 9 feet wide. Others are with the words "SOUTHERN CLAY MFG CO” for the Southern Clay Manufacturing Company in Tennessee.
All wound up
On the edge
Terrified
Sleep disturbed
Restless mind
Petrified
Bouts of fear
Permeate
All I see
Heightening
Nervousness
Threatens me
I am paralyzed
So afraid to die
Caught off guard
Warning signs
Never show
Tension strikes
Choking me
Worries grow
Why do I feel so numb
Is it something to do with where I come from
Should this be fight or flight
I don't know why I'm constantly so uptight
Rapid heartbeat pounding through my chest
Agitated body in distress
I feel like I'm in danger
Daily life is strangled by my stress
A stifling surge
Shooting through all my veins
Extreme apprehension
Suddenly I'm insane
Helpless hysteria
A false sense of urgency
Trapped in my phobia
Possessed by anxiety
(Last night I've got my first panic attack for real)
The slightly obscured sign behind this bench warns of the dangers at this location of possible falling rocks !! No wonder I've never seen anyone sitting here .. with or without a handy 'hardhat' !!

A warning to be heeded for sure. Weil's disease is a form of a bacterial infection also known as Leptospirosis that is carried by animals, most commonly in rats and cattle.
It was pretty cold for a SoCal guy in Nebraska, but I missed the polar vortex by a few weeks, thankfully.

Facts breaches have a tendency to make headlines in the information however they’re hardly ever the best method of identification theft. Infinite human beings have had statistics stolen by unscrupulous web sites, fraud, and hacking. Right here are six suggestions to percentage along with...

As an antidote to all the pretty shots of Nyhavn I've been uploading here's a slightly less picturesque corner of Copenhagen that caught my eye. I've deliberately desaturated some of the colours to add to the industrial aesthetic.
An antique warning traffic-sign "School" in Romania, on DJ 103 (DJ stands for "Drum Judeţean", County Road) between Braşov and Sânpetru. This fine example of socialist realism is affixed on a metal pillar supporting the roof of the gatehouse of the former enterprise Sere Braşov, or, in English, Brashov Greenhouses. Observe the dress of the girl, reminiscent of the 1950s. The two young people are depicted in a soaring pose, running towards the radiant future. Sadly, the Greenhouses have gone bankrupt and the land is now for sale; most likely the derelict structures will be torn down.
This is more like something I should have on my desk at work as a warning! That aside, a rather fine London Transport Electricity Department warning sign, in Johnston typeface, and clever addition of a recessed panel that the various telephone numbers used could be displayed.
Caution: Beware of falling coconuts. Do not stand under trees! (coconut palm trees in particular).
It's a serious message too as a coconut weighing about 1.5 kilograms falling from a height of 40 feet could cause a serious head injury or even instant death. You have been warned!
