Actually, the little sweetie isnt waving, though that's the general belief. Apparently it's their way of saying 'You're too close!' (Though if you look at my lens, you will see I was a fair way away from the pup. Though it was nice to have the eye contact.

This stunning North Chinese Leopard tends now to be more elusive. So when he comes out to give us his special version of 'HI!’ It's extremely special indeed!!

Last minute decisions sometimes pay out, don’t they? This is one of those times when 4am change of heart led us to what at first looked like it’s going to be a boring sunrise to sun unexpectedly rising right next to it. Quite a warm welcome. What do you think?

Truly welcoming heritage style home.

I love everything about this beautiful home.

Starting off with the craftmanship, to the warm lighting shining through the paned windows. The rich, mahogany coloured front doors, framed windows, flower baskets, that delightful second level covered balcony, the wide beams and, much - much more. ......the attention to detail on this home is so inviting. All nestled in a forest like setting.... this house beckons you in - Welcome Home!!

Thank-you for all the overwhelming support and many friendships.

During our stay in the Flores Islands, Indonesia, our local friend Robbie took us to Lasang Kuwus village to witness a Caci fight, a traditional event that happens infrequently. We were fortunate to see it, but the highlight was the remote nature of the village. The locals had never seen foreigners before, and everyone wanted to take selfies or play with us. In one such interaction, I captured a beautiful portrait of a local Indonesian girl holding a baby and smiling at us, reflecting the pure and welcoming nature of the people.

Well now, if you're out wandering and looking for a place that feels like a deep breath after a long day, you might want to stop by Ma Belle’s First Coffee. It’s not just a café—it’s a warm embrace in a ceramic cup.

Step through the door, and the world outside fades into the background. The hum of conversation, the scent of fresh-brewed coffee, the way the light catches in the steam curling up from your cup—it all reminds you that sometimes, the simplest things make the biggest difference.

This is a place of welcome, a place of love. A place where time slows just enough for you to catch up—with an old friend, with your own thoughts, or maybe just with the joy of a perfectly crafted latte.

It’s a place of healing, too—not in a grand, dramatic way, but in the quiet restoration that comes from kindness, warmth, and a moment spent simply being. You don’t have to say much. You don’t have to be anything other than yourself. Just take a seat, take a sip, and let life settle around you in the way that only a good coffee shop can.

We’ll keep the coffee hot. You just bring yourself.

Afternoon arrival from Iasi.

Observing architecture while walking from Charlemont Place to St. Stephen's Green Park, Dublin, Ireland in January 2016. Highly recommended walk, fascinating architectural styles and discoveries to be made.

We enjoyed our stay again at the Hilton Dublin Airport Hotel in January 2016. Our Observations and Impressions. In our opinion the Hilton @DUB remains our favorite hotel at Dublin Airport, we received a friendly welcome, beautiful room, memorable eating and drinking experiences, they offer a good furnished petite Livingwell fitness room, plus inviting spaces, services and shuttle bus services between the airport/hotel/airport, be aware that the hotel to airport section costs E2 p.p. / while from airport to hotel it's complimentary. Overall, we would recommend this hotel at Dublin Airport.

A beautiful hotel in the heart of Dublin, Ireland, we enjoyed our stay, also of note, the hotel overlooks the Grand Canal, plus it's within walking distance to St. Stephen's Green, shopping, art, culture and sightseeing attractions. On another note, the Hilton Dublin is within walking distance of other Hilton family properties incl. the Conrad Dublin and the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Dublin-Burlington Road.

It was crisp, but we enjoyed our walk along the Grand Canal in Dublin, Ireland from Charlemont Place towards Wilton Terrace, it was sunny, we had a blue sky, saw many people out and about, plus as a bonus we saw a barge transitting through a lock on the Grand Canal. A visit here in highly recommended, especially when staying at the equally beautiful Hilton Dublin Hotel as we did during our weekend in January 2016.

We observed the beautiful facade of the gorgeous Conrad Hotel Dublin, Ireland which is located opposite the National Concert Hall and near St. Stephen's Green Park, also the Hilton Dublin and the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Burlington Road are within walking distance from the Conrad Hotel Dublin. We only popped in for one, had several and met some really nice people. Has a bloody good laugh and then trundled off for a pre booked meal.

Caught these girls kissing in the street in Arnhem. The girl on the right was waiting for her girlfriend, the moment that she arrived she got a warm welcome. The kissing came first, the hugging later..

From the amazing King's Head Llangennith, at the end of The Gower Peninsula. It's got outstanding accommodation, great food, a warm welcome, and perfect ale from the local Gower Brewery.

Penclawdd is famous for cockle harvesting, and laver bread, the latter being nothing to do with Hovis, but seaweed with oatmeal. It's much more appetising than it looks.

And, of course, Welsh Bacon and egg, the latter from bilingual hens, no doubt.

I was in the area carrying out last rites for my dad's ashes, born in Swansea, and always a Swansea lad. He was going home for the last time...

Hiraeth is a Welsh word with no literal English translation, but refers to a Welsh exile's longing for his homeland, a mixture of melancholy, regret, and hope.

I thought I was simply going to scatter some earthly remains, but I found that being back in the area primed the grief pumps, as I remembered trips with the family to the area. I have a minimum 50% Welsh content, but on that trip, it felt like a lot more.
