Orsus Zoktavir, the Butcher of Khardov, a burly warcaster from the Khador faction in Warmachine. I went with my standard 5th Border Legion color scheme for him, with an attempt at heavy weathering on the armor.
The base is a concrete effect made of cork board, with some bits of pinning brass rods made to look like corroded rebar. This is my first use of snow flock as basing material, so I kept it light.
The inside of the birthday card. Not only did she make this, she ordered in the biggest stompiest robot in the model range for me. That's what's "out next week".

A miniature I painted for my Iron Kingdoms RPG adventuring group. The character is an Iosan Explorer/Field Mechanik living in the country of Khador.
The original model is an Arcanist from the Retribution of Scyrah faction in the Warmachine miniatures game.

A better picture, still need to work on lighting - my setup needs a few upgrades - I'm getting a decent amount of blowout from the lamp I ended up using as my kicker, my key isn't directional enough (I just use my painting lamp, which throws light everywhere), and my fill is preposterously awkward to use due to my lack of A-clamps.
Still, an improvement on the previous one light from above version.
As for the model, I really like the way it turned out, given the difficulties painting it while fully assembled presented. Next time I do something on that scale, it'll be in pieces until I'm pretty much finished.
The base is a layer of apoxie sculpt that I carved a menofix into, broke apart, and glued to the thick cork from an IKEA trivet that I had started with.
The Khador Battle Mechanik Officer, a unit attachment to the battle mechanik unit. He has a big wrench and Man-o-War armor. This model was given an LOT of attention as it's going to be my first submission to a painting contest. Hope it does ok.
