Every so often, I look for a home in SL and a place to display my photography. I find I just can't afford what I really want. My big dream would be to have a relatively large area, a forest setting filled with wildflowers, trees, and a small lake. A small cabin located in the center on the edge of the lake. Since there is no threat of "real" harsh weather it would be fun to have my photographs on easels scattered throughout the forest on the edge of a wooded path. One or two just outside the cabin near the lake, maybe one on the cabin porch, and maybe an old fashioned large frame camera just off the porch on a tripod. One or two in the cabin itself.
Ah, but a wanderer (in SL) I will probably always be... my home wherever I find myself, a free sandbox the place to rez.
“We wanderers, ever seeking the lonelier way, begin no day where we have ended another day; and no sunrise finds us where sunset left us.”
― Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet
“Where men can’t walk, or freely talk, and sons turn their fathers in...”.

Oh yeah, I'm the type of guy
That likes to roam around
I'm never in one place
I roam from town to town
They call me the wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam around, around, around,
around, around, around, around
~Maresca -1961
This is another quote from the book The Wanderers by Meg Howrey, which is a little bit science fiction and perhaps even more so delving into the human psyche in interesting ways. Sometimes, when I see all of the people so close yet not connecting and instead so focused on their screens, I think of the emptiness in the world that is being created when we tune out the colors and beauty and focus only on our own interior monologue and anything else that risks us having to think deep thoughts or be bored or uncomfortable. At the end of the world, when all the power goes out, I guess we'll finally get to have conversations with other people.

I had recently seen some lovely blue bell images and though it is not really my thing I felt inspired to have a go and see if I could come up with something.
I have always found bluebells almost impossible to photograph so as you can see they are not my focal point but I used them as a sort of lead in to the tree and it's branches.
This was taken during really heavy rain a couple of days ago which helped diffuse the light a little bit.
Any thoughts most welcome even if you think is rubbish :-)
Also known as the monarch butterfly. In Australia, the species makes limited migratory movements in cooler areas. It has only been present here since the late 19th century. Feeding on milkweed.

One from a very memorable (and cold!) encounter with a couple of Plains-wanderers out on the native grasslands of Northern Victoria. Absolutely stunning little birds.
I was in the Olympic Mountains scouting out some shot locations when I wandered across this scene of the Sun shining down into the forest floor.
Make sure to click on the image to see a large version zoomed in. The details really make the photo more interesting.

After walking about 4 km over the snow we got into this place to enjoy a magnificent view of the Skeiðarárjökull Glacier, located in Vatnajökull National Park.

The streets are empty the harrowing scene made more so by the wind whistling from the abandoned alleys and buildings.
"Slow down," Requested Vlad "My knees are Burning," He moaned in pained breaths, I slowed not to his request but because I had heard rustling and seen a shadow move in a nearby building,"GET DOWN!" I exclaimed to Vlad barely being heard over the shot that rang out...
