Trying something a bit different here. You get a sense of how damp and gloomy it was during our visit to Cwm Idwal in October. Still stunningly beautiful
This image was taken during my first autumn explore of 2019 at the woodland near Stourhead.
I wasn't sure what version of autumn I was going to capture before I set off. Once at the location it was clear that for once I was able to capture the early stages of the new season. The combination of greens and yellows dominated the woodland, representing the outgoing of summer and its successor autumn.
... another stop along he NW section of the NC500 after turning onto A894
At this viewpoint, a number of vehicles had stopped, cars, motorcycles and a caravan. Everyone was checking out the view from the information placard by the entrance where the scene was rather ordinary. So while Lynn was chatting with friends we'd met on the journey, I looked over my right shoulder and decided to wander over, climb a rock outcrop and have a look.
All that is gold does not glitter
Not all those who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither
Deep roots are not reached by the frost
From the ashes a fire shall be woken
A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king
We were at risk to miss everything due to the clouds. These days, the weather is pleasant but the clouds are every now and then.
To my bad luck, we could not leave for the trip on time and missed the sunset which was much more interesting than this.
الحَمْد لله still we got some sunrise photos and to have the sun rise in such a naturally open place as well as to catch it on your SLR camera is ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING!

Although the path was NOT grassy, the man man was not young definitely, it was not in the autumn indeed and the valley was not of Werra river - this is what came to my mind when so this man walking down the path down to this beautiful valley...

"In the autumn of the year 184– a strapping young fellow, knapsack on back and stick in hand, was walking with slow and easy stride along the broad highroad that leads up from Marisfeld to Wichtelhausen.
He was not one of those journeyman artisans who travel about from place to place, seeking work; anyone could see that at the first glance, even if the small, neatly made leather portfolio, which he carried strapped on his knapsack, had not betrayed his calling. There was certainly no denying the fact that he was an artist.

Away on the other side ran a grassy path, leading farther into the valley; so, with no definite purpose in view—for he was only passing through the beautiful Werra Valley to enrich his portfolio—he crossed the brook by leaping from one great stone to another, and so reached the close-cropped meadow on the other side, where he advanced rapidly on the springy turf under the shadow of the thick alder bushes.
“How wonderfully quiet it is in this valley! ..."

I made this shot in Cracow near Wawel castle. I see this guy every spring/ summer season wandering about in Cracow till the mid of autumn. It looks like he enjoys the things as they are every single day. I have never seen him drunk or asking for money.
