This is a hand held shot taken at Hollywood Studios. The D300 performs very well at ISO 3200. This was taken with my Tokina 11-16 at 2.8 and 1/20 sec.

Someone (please) correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the original signage for the Coral Reef. I love seeing those remnants of EPCOT Center and thus feel compelled to photograph them!
I donβt know about you, but my favorite time of year is coming upβ¦ Halloween! Although we may not be going to MNSSHP this year, the event and especially the parade are the highlights of the season for me. Anyone else canβt wait for this yearβs fall events to get started?!

Frontierland first appeared in Disneyland as one of five original themed lands. Conceived by Walt Disney, the land did not initially contain many attractions, but centered on open expanses of wilderness which could be traversed by guests via stagecoach, pack mules and walking trails. The Mine Train Thru Nature's Wonderland opened in 1960, consisting of a sedate train ride around various western landscape dioramas. The Mine Train closed in 1977 to make way for a new attraction; the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which opened in 1979.
Disneyland also once had a Marshal's office, honoring Waillard P. Bounds, Walt's father-in-law, who was actually a U. S. Marshal. Disneyland's Frontierland gateway is constructed of ponderosa pine logs. The land's long shoreline along the Rivers of America is considered a prime viewing location for the nighttime Fantasmic! show. The docks to both the Mark Twain Riverboat and the Sailing Ship Columbia, (a replica of American explorer Robert Gray's 18th century ship that circumnavigated the globe) are located here, and Tom Sawyer Island in the river's center is also considered a property of Frontierland
Frontierland's buildings have lots of detail too. On the roof of the Westward Ho Trading Co., there are elk or deer antlers. Elk antlers were commonly placed on general stores in the old west so cowboys coming into town immediately knew where to get supplies. Also in Frontierland is a building that has a large sign that says "Laod Bhang Co. Fireworks Factory". Plus, at the storefront marked "Crockett and Russel Hat Co.", you'll find a window honoring Fess Parker, who played Davy Crockett in Walt Disney's Davy Crockett. Frontierland borders Fantasyland (via the Big Thunder Trail), New Orleans Square and Adventureland, and connects to the Central Plaza through an iconic set of fort-style gates.

The Walt Disney Concert Hall at 111 South Grand Avenue in Downtown of Los Angeles, California, is the fourth hall of the Los Angeles Music Center and was designed by Frank Gehry. It opened on October 24, 2003.
Lots of metal went into Frank Gehryβs Concert Hall at the Music Center in Los Γngeles, but I do not think you will hear some heavy metal there any time soon, though I am sure that Gustavo Dudamel would not mind...β«
If you want to see a cool perspective of the fireworks at Disneyland make sure to stay in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge because you get to watch the fireworks they fire behind Sleeping Beauty's Castle from the park to get some cool photos.

Mickey Mouse was created by Walt Disney back in 1928, and is probably the worlds most recognised cartoon character. He is seen here helping tell the time on an old vintage alarm clock.
He is also subject to one of my favourite jokes, but I will only tell it if requested..............

Walter Elias "Walt" Disney December 5, 1901 β December 15, 1966, was an American entrepreneur, animator, voice actor and film producer. A pioneer of the American animation industry, he introduced several developments in the production of cartoons. As a film producer he received 22 Academy Awards from 59 nominations and has won more individual Oscars than anyone else. He was presented with two Golden Globe Special Achievement Awards and one Emmy Award, among other honours. Several of his films are included in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

Since I build a micro version of the Disneyland Mainstreet Station I have been thinking about building a proper sized Disneyland locomotive. The Christmas season was a perfect opportunity to make one!
To make this train I used many parts from set 7597 Western Train Chase and motorized the train with all the power functions parts from set 60051 High-Speed Passenger Train. During designing I had to make a couple of consessions to allow the train to ride the curved rail tracks. Despite that, I am very happy with the final result.

Today's photo tour sends us to the Magic Kingdom for yet another fireworks shot from the Happily Ever After show. That night, I was able to capture 18 really decent shots and one of the reasons was that this show, in my opinion, has more firework bursts then wishes. The patterns are different and the colors are different making it more easier to get a good shot if you miss a few others. Please enjoy and have a magical day!
My Disney details collection is a group of photos that represents the ideals and magic of what creates Disney World and Disneyland. These photos may be of a particular ride or place at either Disney World or Disneyland... but they also could be a close-up object... Remember, Disney is in the details.
