Classic view of the Wallstreet section of the Zion Narrows. The spring-fed North Fork of the Virgin River cascades its way through the slot canyon, with towering sandstone walls on either side. The 'weeping' effect is prominently seen on the walls of the canyon here, at places where water permeating through the porous rock is slowly expelled. Such locations create green lushness on the canyon walls (more so in other spots, because here flash floods wash away any soil and new trees). I had to patiently wait for the steady stream of hikers through the canyon to disappear for just a second before getting this shot. Afternoon seems to be the time to be here, when the sun overhead creates the wonderful glowing phenomena on the canyon walls.

Epic adventures in Zion National Park. We spent the whole day wading through the river in the narrows. Was an epic journey not to be forgotten!

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) building, located at 11 Wall Street, was built in 1903 to the Classical Revival design of George B. Post. The ten story main façade features a allegorical marble sculpture in the pediment, above six tall Corinthian capitals, called “Integrity Protecting the Works of Man," designed by John Quincy Adams Ward and executed by Paul Wayland Bartlett.

The New York Stock Exchange itself traces its history back to 1792 and New York Stock & Exchange Board, which was started with the Buttonwood Agreement—which was signed by 24 stockbrokers outside of 68 Wall Street. The agreement set floor commission rates and bound the signers to each other in security sales, eliminating the auctioneers. The organization drafted a formal constitution in 1817 and in 1863 shortened its name to the New York Stock Exchange before moving into a John Kellum signed building at 12 Broad Street in 1865, before settling into its current location at the turn of the century.

The New York Stock Exchange was designated a landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1985.

the market looked fine from here. the only thing falling was water.

we hiked the deep canyon carved by the virgin river which is known as 'the narrows'. the passage where the walls are are tallest and closest and shoot nearly vertically overhead with wall-to-wall water is known as wallstreet.

Christmas doesn't seem very festive on Wall Street. But while they have nothing but "Bah, Humbug" for Bernie Sanders and the rest of America, at least they send generous Christmas gifts to all the senators, congress critters and the rest of the presidential candidates.

There’s something about Zion National Park that just blows me away and it’s not hard to call it my favorite National Park. I think it’s because of the unique hikes that lead to some amazing views. Drive up Zion Canyon, for example, and you can find yourself hiking in the Virgin River as 400 foot red rock walls close in on you, creating the slot canyon known as The Narrows. I first visited The Narrows with Willie and Yan a few years ago and immediately wanted to go back.

Typically people rent special dry-pants, water shoes and hiking poles to make walking through the river easier. I own my own gear and that meant I could hop on the first bus to the Narrows plunge right into the river. Arriving early at The Narrows meant we had the entire canyon mostly to oureslves. By the time I left 5 hours later the entire place was packed like a zoo with curious tourists. I named this photo "Essential" because it's a hike that everyone must do at least once in their lifetime ... just make sure to go early and avoid the hordes of people who agree with me.

About 4 miles into the Narrows you arrive at a section known as “Wall Street”, it’s where the canyon walls close in just a little more and the walls start to glow orange as the rising sun hits the upper areas and reflects down into the canyon. After walking through the entire Wall Street section I turned back and came across this section that was glowing so intensely that I had to stop.
