The sun was just lighting up the skyline of Hamilton on the other side of Lake Ontario. Time for the city to wake up and come alive with traffic. At least I enjoyed this moment of tranquility.
The wake left by a fire department boat, Boston Harbor. I thought it looked like those minimalist desert photos you see now and then.
UR-82007, an Antonov An-124-100M Ruslan, on approach to runway 24R at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, Ontario. It was arriving as ADB2221 (Antonov Airlines) from Houston, Texas.
Ive recently been experimenting with the old, Russian made, Helios 44-2. Now its fungi season I was hoping to get a slightly dreamy effect and some wonderful bokeh that this old lens is renowned for.
The Helios 44-2 is a great little lens with some decent sharpness and great bokeh. It will flare when shooting into the sun compared to many modern lenses as can be seen in this image.
Cthulhu wakes.
The mind of Man
His heart forsakes:
His psyche breaks.
With acid rain
The clouds are thick;
And Man, insane,
Regrets his brain.
The dawning doom
Refractively splits
The heavy gloom.
All nightmares loom.
Now that we are in standard time, I needed to get up an hour earlier than last week to catch the sunrrise. On this chily morning (low 50F), there was not a single cloud or a shroud of fog to make the morning photo interesting. Had to resort back to this dead tree which was photographed back in March. You can see the sun rose over the same position, but the skies are quite different.
Waht you see or wat you imagine? In the fact I'm so naughty...

I could sit mesmerized for hours watching the whale tail (shaped) wake follow behind the boat.
Surrounded by water, mountains, blue sky with cloud formations and the foamy wake dancing beyond the transom has to be the best antidepressant and without a prescription.
To me there is nothing more peaceful and relaxing.

In fluid dynamics, a wake may either be:
The region of recirculating flow immediately behind a moving or stationary blunt body, caused by viscosity, which may be accompanied by flow separation and turbulence, or
the wave pattern on the water surface downstream of an object in a flow, or produced by a moving object (e.g. a ship), caused by pressure differences of the fluids above and below the free surface and gravity (or surface tension), or both. ( Wikipedia)
Sometimes the ideas in my head don't work out as well as I'd hoped. I want to try this again with better lighting conditions.
Lessons learned - it's tricky to write in coffee beans, I guess this would be a situation for focus stacking and apparently coffee beans lose their sheen when you hold and manipulate them.
On approach to Dublin Airport this Airbus aircraft flew through some low cloud and shows how the air is disturbed after the aircraft passes.
When I use to read about fairy tales, I never thought I’d end up in the middle of one.
