This is my first real railfan trip since catching the WuTang Flu. It's been since March 8th since I've taken a shot with my trusty D800 and what a great comeback it was.

Train is pulled by 4 sequentially numbered elephant style ES44C4's. 3254, 3255, 3256, 3257. All making their maiden run on the Z-ALTWSP9-30 as it crosses over from M1 to M2 at Craig. Got lucky with the sun, just a few seconds prior this was in full shadow.

The sun finally made an appearance here in the eastern part of Kansas but form the looks of the forecast, it might just be the only nice day for a while. Despite all the WuTang Flu fears, trains are still running. In this case a very clean UP 5870 leads a mixed manifest train between Loring and Linwood on the UP Kansas Sub.

As a part of nature, Hokies and Wahoos MUST feud...(or at least display hostile intentions, even toward loved ones).

When you have great models, things happen out of nowhere. But I did bring some ideas. I had seen this spot when I did my initial walk through and it had an great ancient feel. So after a few normal shots, I told them "Show me some good College Rivalry hatred!" This is what resulted. It did get quite chippy and the Wahoo-ette came close to having to climb out of an empty fountain! But she would have her revenge later.
