A solitary tree stands, with a large branch broken away after a storm. Natures own way of pruning the habitat.
Once the pride of the Santa Fe fleet, this former Santa Fe SD75M, now owned by PRLX is showing its age with tattered paint and patches trying to hide its previous life. On the point of Q116, the train fights up the hill into Gaines, MI. By the time the tail end would pass by, the train would be quickly up to track speed.

Beddgelert (Meaning the grave of Gelert ) was once described as "a few dozen hard grey houses ... huddled together in some majestic mountain scenery". This village, just south of Snowdon, owes its fame to the story of Prince Llewelyn ap Iorwerth who decided on a hunting trip and left his infant son in the charge of his faithful dog Gelert. On his return, the Prince was greeted by Gelert, who noticed the dog's muzzle was soaked in blood, and his son was nowhere to be seen. Llewelyn attacked the dog, and it fell to the ground gravely injured. However, within minutes he heard a cry and stumbled through nearby bushes to find his son, safe in his cradle. Beside the cradle lay the body of a giant wolf covered with wounds, the result of a fight to the death with hound Gelert. Llewelyn strode back to his faithful dog and watched it die from his actions.

This is this an alternative view that shows this vine as it spirals out of the ground ascending a tree trunk to reach the top of the canopy. On Hoople Island, Long Sault, Ontario.
This photograph shows blossom in different stages of emerging from a Prunus x Cistena cherry tree growing in my garden in South Wales.
It was taken a few hours after I received my first dose of the covid-19 vaccine in April 2021, just as my shoulder was beginning to ache, making it a little uncomfortable to capture the image while holding the camera without a tripod.
The most prominent flower in the photograph had a petal that had been damaged by the wind. The red spot on that petal resembled a tiny pinprick of blood, reminding me again of my aching shoulder, but also giving me the title of the image - "Wounded Blossom".
This pretty little bee had a wounded wing. It kept jumping from leaf to leaf, but finally stayed still for a few photos.

Thanks Katherine Rodrigues for the testimonial!
Everyone should check her out she's an amazingly talented yet very young photographer, she inspires me and she will inspire you too.:D
A bruise is tender
but does not last,
it leaves me as
I always was.
But a wound I take
much more to heart,
for a scar will always
leave its mark.
And if you should ask me
which you are,
my answer is -
you are a scar.”

This young Thrush has been in our garden for about a week now. We noted he only used one leg and through the binoculars could see it was carrying a leg and also had disturbed feathers on the same side. Possibly damage caused by an encounter with a cat. However it is happy fossicking around our gardens.
Straight from the camera.
Walked along a motorway for one and a half hours with Hannu Huhtamo looking for a specific cool looking location we had heard of but with no luck... Good thing we found this beautiful little icy pond on the way so had somewhere to light paint in!

The hearts and Moon were made by me. I am actually wearing them (a nice little trick Patricie taught me)
It was a minimal shoot. We made the whole shooting in one location, in a small casual coffee that protected us from the heat and the crowd. Like most of my shootings, we did not use any make up. Like most of my shooting we went into the " flow" and have gone with improvisation. Like most of my shoot we spent our time with chatting and conversations together with our shooting. Like most of our time, we had lots of fun.
Besides, my Lightroom (LR) is not working so I had to shoot wisely. And I think this one became my favourite in this session.
