In the winter forest, I came across a large tree split along the trunk, it is not clear how. There were no traces of lightning, and there were no traces of the use of any tools.
For me, it has remained a mystery.

Wood carving is one of the world oldest crafts that involves the chiselling away of wood to create the desired figure by the carver. This is with a finished design and amazed by the details involved in it.
If you go down to the bluebell woods, you are treated to a beautiful carpet of blue haze, against the fresh lush green of the vegetation and foliage.
Will you walk between the trees
Where we'll kiss and we'll please
Where we'll stroll hand in hand
Across this colourful, natural land
We would play, hide and seek
Then behind a tree, we'd sneak
To share a kiss and lots more
On the soft, leaf filled floor
Where sweet love, we would make
Until our bodies they did ache
There your heart, i would please
Underneath those towering trees
Sneaking out of the reeds to swim around a small island these Wood Ducks make a pass in front of my spot on the shoreline.

"Ancient woods are our richest and most complex terrestrial habitat in the UK and they are home to more threatened species than any other. Centuries of undisturbed soils and accumulated decaying wood have created the perfect place for communities of fungi and invertebrates. Other specialist species of insects, birds and mammals rely on ancient woodlands." Woodland Trust

One of the truely outstanding bluebells sites in southern England is Dockey Wood, part of the Ashridge Estate in Hertfordshire. The sun shining through the tree trunks made for a nice interplay of light and shadow as the flowers marched up the hill.

I went to look for the chamois again today, and although they showed up they didn’t seem pleased that I had brought my mom along... they made a big show of giving warning calls and sprinting towards cover while not appearing particularly nervous. (They do remind me a bit of cats.) As I didn’t manage to capture their show very well I took a few flower shots instead...
The leaves have fallen by early December but still have plenty of colour on the floor. Leechpool Woods. Horsham.
