Built in 1838. The round, castellated tower is built in 3 sections, is 62 feet tall, and painted white with black stripes The light signal is a white flash every 5 seconds. The inscription on the lighthouse tower reads "No Passage Landward" indicating it is not safe to try and pass between the lighthouse and the shore.

 

Located on the northeast corner of the Isle of Anglesey marking the north entrance to Menai Strait, the body of shallow water separating the Isle of Anglesey from the mainland.

Built in 1916. The octagonal masonry tower is 59 feet tall and rises from a two story keeper's house. The light signal is a white or red flash, depending on direction, every 10 seconds.

 

Skokholm Island is a small island off the southwest tip of Wales that was purchased by a wildlife trust in 2012. The 4 rooms in the keeper's quarters are available for rental although the island can only be accessed by boat in good weather. Our tour group was unable to land because of rough seas and some fog.

 

Located 5 miles northwest of St. Ann's Head.

I'm up late, cleaning the kitchen, and just sat down to see if I could catch a friend on Google Talk.

 

I hadn't even been started good and I was sweating like crazy. A by-product of my weight, I guess. Either that or my thick crazy hair.

The Malabar Trogon (Harpactes fasciatus) is a species of bird in the trogon family. It is found in the forests of Sri Lanka and peninsular India. In India it is mainly found in the Western Ghats, hill forests of central India and in parts of the Eastern Ghats. They are insectivorous and although not migratory they may make seasonal movements in the hill regions.

The Worcester Locomotive Society (WLS) was founded in 1960 and is still active with more than 1 thousand active supporters. The WLS is dedicated to the support and study of Worcester’s railways and members are also active in the restoration and preservation of rolling stock and locomotives. The WLS is affiliated with the South Devon Railway.

 

The badge appears to feature a King Class 4-6-0 steam locomotive of which three have been preserved. This locomotive may be the King George V – can anyone please confirm this?
