During my journey I visited a few historical places from WW II. The most impressive and freightening location was the Nazi submarine base in St.Nazaire.

Witho those two images I want to start a serie of tributes to songs and bands that have been important to me.

Music that inspires me pictures and pictures that inspire me music...

Fumbling for his cha atched a moment and asked him thus: "Squire, should thou be thus?"

I squirmed at the uncomfortableness of it all...finally nge, I sn erupting, "Goddamni w could you?"

He sunk back down and I attempted repargese...it is a kind of French word that means one mu t! Ho st retreat into a shell, or coc ng. I balked and he said, "I could because I must."

He thrust himself forwa oon-type thi rd and declared a Bonapart part, witho sh ,ut all the fla "Why would I not be thus."

It was not a question, I am not a wALRus.

Eventually, the skies cleared and it became clear what a mother-of-a-two-timing-liver-of-fantasies-lover-of-liver he was. How does one combat fatigue...you know, that one associated with labouring under a heavy weight, or lumbering along the path and discovering that love wasn't what it was all tarted up to be? I could have chosen an entity of some sort, oh like nights in the pub with the lads, swirling and swishing long lost dreams in our pint glasses of rose-coloured ale but, I thought I ought not and got a job selling ladies 'pleasurables'. My friend here, on the other hand wore a ring and trumpeted it with flash and bravado (not uncommon for his particular generation). I shifted over to let a young lady sit, poofing and panting from the extra person she was carrying. She glanced a thank you smile and I cranked out some tune from the 40's that sounded remarkably like, 'June I am Your Man' by Thomas Squelchbinder of Kenmore, "Smelcome."

Soon on the fourth day, not long after the variances had fled at the first rumblings of Conga's war dance, a light rain began to fall. It was no matter to us, we three of the Brigada 1974. For equally, light and frilly artwork hung here, dangled upon a string over there, flitted amongst the tired and downtrodden in the next room, whilst meandering and letting off playful cooing somewhere on the floor above. So it could be said, a light fall of the same again was no more than what was had last Thursday but, this was Friday and that meant it was party time! Yeehaw! I stood to sashay, he shifted uncomfortably at first, a forbidding loom of calamity in his thoughts and threatening to charge forth, ramshackle chains and all but, upon request, returned to a slightly wobbly stance, unsure of his haunches, kicking out a jig ensemble akin to stove pipes and our lady friend merely gave a gesture of 'whatever, dude!' with that classic wave-sort-of-thing done by using your hand with nonchalance parlance sans vocal accompaniment. My facial expression must have suddenly paused at befuddlement station, as the corresponding body language went all limp with perplexity trimmings. I cast my gaze reflecting all these recent changes towards her. She was facing away, holding her swelled midriff and kept glancing upward wondering when the skies would clear again. First, I looked up to see if there were some kind of gigantic sunroof in the ceiling and then slowly turned to look at my friend; who stood slightly to the East of her weather-seeking probes. He had a somewhat similar look to mine, with just a dash of flabbergast and a slight hint of incredulity added for flavour. We both turned to take one last look at her - the same, "hmm, I long for snow...oh, the fall of snow...".

"Hmpft! Then we..." he says.

"Shall take our business elsewhere!" I say.

First SLR for the 110 format. Launched in 1975, at the peak of 110 format popularity. Strange design, in a way it follows the accepted shape of the 110 camera and puts a prism on top. It is neither beautiful, compact or particularly functional. It came with a Zoom lens, not very common at that time. For me though, the Pentax Auto 110 is the marvel of 110, witho no concessions in technology or quality. This minolta has aperture priority, but non TTL metering, a bit passé in 1975. Still, it would be the sort of camera that would equip peple of the darke side of the force....

**************S.S. "Galway Castle" (London)….12/09/1918***********************************************

GALWAY CASTLE was built in 1911 by Harland & Wolff at Belfast with a tonnage of 7988grt, a length of 452ft 4in, a beam of 54ft 4in and a service speed of 13 knots. Similar to the Grantully Castle she was the last ship to be delivered before the company was taken over by Royal Mail. In August 1914 she was requisitioned as a troop ship for deployment in the German West Africa campaign against Windho ek.

After the German colony was taken over by General Botha in 1915 she reverted to commercial service as the only remaining Union-Castle vessel. On 3rd August 1916 she was attacked by a German bomber near the Gull lightship but the bomb, although scoring a direct hit, failed to explode. She went aground on the Orient Bank at East London on 12th October 1917 but was refloated five days later witho ut any damage. At 07.30 hrs on 12th September 1918 when two days out from Plymouth, she was torpedoed by U-82 and broke her back. At the time she was carrying 400 South African walking wounded, 346 passengers and 204 crew members. So severe was the damage that it was thought that she would sink immediately and it was apparent that U-82 was lining up for another attack. In the rush to abandon ship several lifeboats were swamped by the heavy seas and many finished up in the sea....

However, the U-boat did not mount a further attack and the Galway Castle continued to wallow for three days. Destroyers were summoned by radio to rescue survivors who were taken back to Plymouth where it was ascertained that 143 persons had perished. HMS Spitfire remained in attendance and took off the skeleton crew before she finally sank

i pretty much followed the spirit of the recipe (below) to make tonight's veggie burger, except that i baked the patties last night after i formed them, then re-heated tonights victims in a cast iron pan to give them some color. finally i've bit into a homemade veggie burger and not have it squish out the sides because the interior was mush. the texture was nice and chewy, and the flavor was pretty much there. my best effort to date!

Phelps Mansion – 1110 Montgomery Street

I love the small & compact Canon G9X that most of the photos in this project have been taken with, but for the photo of this grand old mansion, I reached for my grand old camera (tripod mounted Nikon D300x with Nikon F2.8 24-70mm attached) , in the hopes that I could make a grand old image. I’m happy with it.

Known as the Phelps mansion, this Victorian-style house was built in 1888. The mansion was the home of Edward Phelps, who served as the fifth mayor of Laurel. Throughout his seven years in office, Phelps modernized the rural community by overseeing the addition of electric street lights, brick-paved road, a telephone exchange system, three steel bridges that spanned the Patuxent River, and a railroad that connected Laurel to Washington, D.C. Phelps served as mayor of Laurel from 1895 to 1902.

Phelps formed a partnership with Charles F. Shaffer, Jr., and together they founded The Phelps & Shaffer Co. The store sold everything from clothespins to pianos. At 9th and Montgomery Streets, its building later housed the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department, Laurel City Hall and Police Department, and currently the Harrison-Beard Community Center.

Phelps and his family lived at 1110 Montgomery Street from 1888 until, 1915. He died in 1931 at age 70. I find it somewhat amusing to compare Laurel Mayor Phelps’ stately Victorian to Baltimore Mayor William Donald Schaefer’s Row Home located at 620 Edgewood Street in Baltimore.

The Emmys seemed to be not a good time for ailing theater pairs this year: For Sarah Hyland (23) and Bella Thorne (16) was the presentation of a welcome opportunity without the fresh ex-partner to show. Hunger For Love :

"Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier. " - Mother Teresa

Friends I have been so very busy at work and home, hardly get much time to upload photos.

This shot was taken during my recent trip to Jaipaiguri, India .

I was walking in the muddy paddy fields , with my heavy camera bag and sandle. While crossing a small creek, my feet got stuck in the water and to save the camera I jumped , but couldn't. My sandle got stuck in the muddy water.

These 3 kids were working in the nearby rice field , and seeing my condition, they ran towards me for help. One took my bag , one pulled me up and the other went in the muddy water and fetched my sandle.....In return all they requested is a photo.....

Along along during my school years I have been in close proximity with Mother Teresa, she used to come to our school and preach us.....for some reason this incident reminded me of her and her words...

In the eve of children day , dedicate this photo to all kids who are working to save their families.

The Shot :

Single shot, hand held capture .

This is not an HDR image.

I would also like to thank all my Flickr friends , last week crossed more than a Million hits, I can't wait to see your beautiful captures...
