Peaceful Saturday

It's a lot harder to do than it looks, especially when trying to line up both shoulders and two braids. I gave up on absolute perfection here. But it was good enough for the Flickr Blog. (See blank spot, the result of accidentally making this private one day. The other problem: I wiped out 200+ favorites.)

The massive rock formation in the picture is "Ship Rock", which forms the south "wall" of the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. There are 70 tiered seating rows to the top, and for some reason I decided to walk each row rather than climb the stairs outright. In 90+ degrees heat at mid-day sun, and an elevation of 6450 feet (1965m), it was quite a slog (I passed by 9525 "seats" in the walk).

Red Rocks Amphitheathre is an outdoor entertainment venue that was provided by Mother Nature, and has been used since 1906. The modern configuration of the venue was constructed under the ownership of the City of Denver, from 1936 to 1942.

Because of the unique setting, and great acoustics provided by three naturally-formed 300-foot rocks (Ship Rock, Stage Rock, and Creation Rock), many TV performances, movies and recordings have been made at Red Rocks.

Nearly every major recording artist has performed at Red Rocks since the 1960's Beatles show. Stage bills, posters and signed memorabilia are on display at the onsite Colorado Music Hall of Fame. I named only a few of the groups (ones that I liked) in the "Tags".

Musician, singer, songwriter, author, poet, and activist, at 83 years old this man is inspirational. I had the privilege of seeing him perform last night in front of thousands. The audience loved him.

She thanked the moon and

her bright guiding light

that once touched a face

like a kiss in the night

that awakened a soul

from an ocean so deep

and promised his heart

to another to keep

Safe in her hand

an ocean apart

two hearts beat as one

As they should from the start

She promised to love him

forever and a day

and the moon shone more brightly

and guided their way

BENEDICTION

The gentle rain that melts away all doubts

all fears and judgements that are better to cast out

so that inside us we can rest our weary minds

allow our hearts to beat a rhythmic kind

of tune and dance until our heart's are quite content

allow in grace and benediction meant

to soothe our souls; allow our aching limbs to rest

acceptance is a blessing; let it do it's best

to heal us and to warm the chillness from our bones

so only light can enter and radiate outwards and atone

for all those times when we were not quite perfect

let slip away those things and start again

newborn; rejuvenated; without pain

focus clearly on the point of light and then refrain

from ever letting darkness overshadow what you know is true

that all things come to pass and so will I and so will you

right or wrong, so many petty little things

prevent us from being joyous; clip our fragile wings

soften; softer; soft and peaceful now

inhale; exhale a lighter pale of purest, white as snow

the smallest problems that we each allowed

focus on each breath; let passing thoughts float by

it's possible you know to let our troubles

slip away from us like clouds up in the sky

it's easy but you have to want to make it so

my mind was racing fast, but now it has no place to go

no place that it would rather be, you see

than resting in this moment's silence

it allows me to be me

it allows me to be free …

Willie Nelson:

In the twilight glow I see them

Blue eyes cryin' in the rain

When we kissed goodbye and parted

I knew we'd never meet again

Love is like a dyin' ember

Only memories remain

Through the ages I'll remember

Blue eyes cryin' in the rain

Some day when we meet up yonder

We'll stroll hand in hand again

In a land that knows no partin'

Blue…

I really like the shallow DOF in this image and the focus on the strings. And the bokeh on the right side, to me, almost looks like water but nothing got spilled on the puzzle! Thank you all because of you Flickr is one of my favorite places!

the very thing that your heart cries for

Is a woman's love-WillieNelson

A woman's love goes deeper than the man's

Into a place only she understands

It's a healing touch, it's a blade of a knife

But so much love, a woman's love that gives you life

A woman's love is stronger than a man's

But it can hold your heart in the palm of its hands

It'll keep the faith through the long dark night

It takes a woman's love, a woman's love to see the light

It'll make you fly, sink you like a stone

It'll leave you high or leave you all alone

If you believe her word, no matter what you've heard

Anybody say about it, there's no life for you without it now

If a woman's love ever finds your soul

It'll break your will and take control

'Cause the very thing that your heart cries for

Is a woman's love, this woman's love and nothing more

It's a woman love you're living for

Willie Nelson in concert last night in Chatt.,Tn.

I took several photos of Willie, but this is my favorite.

I had waited years to see Willie, this was my first time. His voice was a little weak, and he missed a few licks on "Trigger", but what the heck. He's Willie Nelson, he's 84 years old and he is an icon of country music. I was thrilled to see this legendary entertainer, the Red Headed Stranger. I had a front row seat. It was a night I will never forget.

... just cant wait to get on the road again.

taken through my windshield

Maybe I didn't love you

Quite as often as I could have

And maybe I didn't treat you

Quite as good as I should have

If I made you feel second best

Girl I'm sorry I was blind

You were always on my mind

You were always on my mind...

When we lost Fudge, our chocolate lab a year ago, Luna was crushed...she'd search high and low for him...we were all in such bad shape that the three of us jumped into the hoopty and pulled the land yacht all across America...once we returned home, we knew we had to find Lu a buddy and that's when Maya came along...

My dearest Flickr friends we have to continue our positive thoughts and vibes this year, if we all get together, we may well make a difference, so let's do it!!!!

It's your outlook on life that counts. If you take yourself lightly and don't take yourself too seriously, pretty soon you can find the humor in our everyday lives. And sometimes it can be a lifesaver.

Willie isn't so bright with money at times. He sold the rights to Crazy for $50 so he could pay off a bar tab.

Willie was here in concert Friday night, and the ticket to his show was part of my birthday present from my husband. Guess who the BIGGEST fan is...

Well I might have gone fishin'

I got to thinkin' it over

The road to the river

Is a mighty long way

Well, it must be the season

He still going strong after all these years, and just look at Trigger, his guitar. It sounds great to this day.

Todavía sigue adelante con fuerza después de todos estos años. ¡Y su guitarra, Trigger! ¡Mírala! Suena fantástica hasta hoy en día.

When I see this reaction on his face, it makes me think that someone told him something like, "Hey weed is bad for you man." :)

Cuando veo este tipo de reacción en su rostro, me hace creer que alguien le dijera, "Oye, la marijuana es mala para ti." :)

Hey! We had a great time last night. It's hard to take pics at a concert. But I will say that this time my pics turned out a LOT better. I won't be around much to comment all of my wonderful flickr friends for a little while. I have about 300 pics to go through, a hangover and I have to go get my kids soon.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! I'll be back to later to catch up on your streams. :D

Sunday morning walk around Austin, TX. I focussed on the street art of the moment and architecture of the South Congress Avenue area.

I miss you darlin' more and more everyday

As heaven would miss the stars above

With every heartbeat, I still think of you

And remember our faded love...

It is getting more and more difficult to see the autographs on Trigger, Willie's guitar, but I still can see quite well Roger Miller's signature.

Con el transcuro de los años, es más y más difícil ver los autógrafos de la gente que firmado Trigger, la guitarra de Willie. Pero claramente todavía se ve la firma Roger Miller.

Even at his age, there is still a twinkle in those eyes and there are still notes of his reddish hair in those long locks of braided hair that Willie has.

Incluso a su edad, todavía hay un brillo en esos ojos y todavía hay notas de su cabello rojizo en esos largos mechones de cabello trenzado que tiene Willie.

She's gone, gone, gone, gone, gone, gone

Crying won't bring her back

The more that I cry

The faster the train flies

For 75 years, John T. Floore’s Country Store has hosted Texas and American music legends alike. This quintessential Texas Honky Tonk has hosted such legendary performers as Willie Nelson, Bob Wills, Ernest Tubb, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Jerry Lee Lewis, Merle Haggard, Ray Price, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Dwight Yoakam, Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keen, B.B. King, Little Richard and many many more. Known by many as the musical “birthplace” of Willie Nelson, Willie immortalized John T. Floore in his hit recording “Shotgun Willie”. John T. Floore and Wille Nelson were partners in the original Willie Nelson Music Company. Texas Monthly listed John T. Floore Country Store as one of the “50 Things Every Texan Should Do”.

Opened in 1942 by Mr. John T. Floore, himself, John T. Floore Country Store was not a store at all, but a unique Texas Dance Hall and Cafe. Floore’s, long renowned for its world famous tamales and homemade bread, offers a full menu of great “Texas Cafe” style food, ice cold beer and and truly unique “Texccentric” atmosphere.
