When I was returning from the spot of flic.kr/p/2qQsuV5 I looked back at my path, and as you can see that horizon cloud was now behind the trees, testament to how far I walked, but I love pushing myself even in freezing temperatures, I decided to let the camera do some of the work, and utilising the Scene settings, turned it to Sunset and pulled off a few shots.
This image rather strikes a chord as to how I see my past, a wilderness, frozen, a path never to be trod upon again and I rather like it that way. Somewhat keeps me in the present where hence one can only ever be.

Nestled in the southern Green Mountains of Vermont, the Lye Brook Wilderness offers a wild escape. Carved by Lye Brook, the landscape here ranges from dramatic cliffs to serene ponds and bogs. Hikers can explore a network of trails, including a portion of the famed Appalachian Trail. Lush forests with vibrant northern hardwoods like maple and birch cover much of the area, while remnants of old logging railroads hint at the wilderness's past. Lye Brook Falls, a cascading waterfall, is a popular destination, but the true beauty of this wilderness lies in its untamed spirit.
A little piece of mossy heaven, tucked away in the wilderness... I'm so thankful that places like this are protected...

The 45,000 acre Bisti Wilderness is located in northwestern New Mexico about 40 miles south of the town of Farmington. This remote colorful landscape of eroded badlands contains numerous hoodoos, pinnacles and spires. Dinosaur fossils and petrified wood logs can also be found here. The unusual rock formations at Bisti are composed of interbedded sandstones, shales, mudstones and coal which erode at different rates resulting in the alien-like topography. Bisti has no established trails and using GPS is recommended.

Näränä Wilderness Farm is a rental cottage that anyone can rent for a short period of time.
At the Näränä wilderness farm, you can get to know the life of a farmer living in the backwoods of Kuusamo, as it was in the first half of the 20th century.
The place is owned by the Finnish Forestry Commission.

Wilderness as far as you can see, and yet there are species here that rely on the survival an individual insect species for pollination. the relationship between temperature, flowering and pollination makes survival precarious. some of the trees are are over 2000 years old. what will this look like in 2000 years? Will anyone even notice?
