Another meandering path, this time the accessible trail to the quarry and visitor center at Halibut Point State Park in Rockport, Massachusetts. The yellows, reds and oranges of the fall foliage are fading, even as much green remains.

One of the few photos I shot with the Tokina. I wish now I had used it more while I was there.

As part of the "Heber Train 125" commemoration, Rio Grande caboose No. 01503 was on display near the Heber Valley Railroad depot on Sept. 27, and 28, 2024. 01503 was built by International Car for the D&RGW in October 1966. There are a few minor external accessories remaining to be installed and the interior is undergoing a full restoration to its as original appearance.

Took this the other day on my way for an appointment. I just had to try to capture such a dramatic sky and light. This is a wider view than the one I posted a few days ago.

This is true that practice is important, but where shall we practice? When we wake up the Golden gate bridge does not come near to our house. We should drive hours to get there. Location is very important to achieve our goal. Even for bird photography, we should drive miles.

Shot this a month or so before acquiring a wide angle lense. I’ll need to re-try it, but I wish it was cloudy.

You have likely heard of the sweatpants brigade, but have you ever heard of the butt touching brotherhood?

After setting the pole up for this shot at Asgarby earlier today, I decided to retract the equipment and have a look down the line as the loco was taking longer than Id expected to get here. Low and behold no sooner had I got onto the crossing the barriers went down on Burton Road and 56090 screamed into view.

After whipping the pole back up to about 3 metres I realised my lens was set at quite a wide angle. However, being out of time I pressed the shutter and got this result. Apart from having to remove the crossing sign in the corner of the frame Im actually quite pleased with the end product and the wide angle finish gives a slightly different perspective to what I would normally go for
