AAW -- Whimsy

Not sure if this will make it, but it's my last ditch attempt at submitting something for this week's challenge. Just the beginning of what I had in mind, but I do find nature very whimsical. I think back to days of childhood, playing outside, especially at my grandfather's country home. The tiny hoverflies, butterflies and dragonflies are magical to me, even now.

I've been obsessing lately with doing something new and different and big and exciting. I'm headed out to the forest on Thursday with lights and all to try techniques I've never tried before. I am extremely excited to see how it goes. I am doing more storytelling and working on fleshing out concepts more. I hope that it yields a result that is more specific to the message I want to send.

Because of all that planning lately, I've been feeling like a fish out of water. I decided to create this image because it felt familiar and exciting at the same time, and I even got to try out some new techniques...like cutting hair, yuck! I shot her in a forest originally but then had to move her to a cloudy background. It was awesome learning something new while working on a pic with a theme that I've already explored.
