Whenever snow hits Vancouver Island, it usually comes up island first. This and the dropping temperatures must signal the birds to move south, for days before we get snow, the flocks of Robins become huge.
During our first day of snow, they discovered the berries in our Holly bush, which I leave on there for these times of hunger. We easily had ~20 birds in and on the bush at any given time with another 10+ birds waiting their turn on a nearby Sitka Spruce, and in the backyard, another 10+ satiated birds were resting in our neighbours overgrown cedar shrubs.
This flock was there the whole day, and by it's end, the berries were mostly gone.
In this frame, one can just see the back of a nearby robin in the lower right hand corner that I couldn't quite crop out.

Whenever I take pictures on a walk, someone always stops and asks me what I am doing so...I take the picture and show it to them, they always say the same thing...gee I never noticed that, it is really pretty... this year, give your child a camera, nothing expensive, just something to teach them to see the world, the real world

When floating through life, it's good to find a lifeline.
Whenever I went to the market I listened this man playing his guitar like a virtuoso, and singing traditional Mexican songs in a trembling but so melodic voice. One day he disappeared from the market and never came back. I still miss the man and his music.
Whenever you get some great light at Norbury junction you are always in for some stunning reflection shots on the Shropshire Union Canal
Whenever I see bluebells I always think of the woodland that’s alongside my Dads house. This is shot there, and it brings back so many fond memories growing up in the countryside with the bluebells signalling better weather and the promise of summer.
I walk here more now after my mum passed last year, it’s just a shame my dad isn’t as mobile as he was to share the views. He does get out and about but he’ll take a whole morning or afternoon taking the dog out!
Whenever I think of the Rocky Mountain, the image of a mirror lake with reflections of snow capped mountains and white clouds comes to mind.
If you enter Rocky Mountain National Park from the east, you will pass through Lake Estes.
On the first morning, clouds littered across the clear blue sky, without much wind, Lake Estes was like a mirror giving off perfect reflections. However, we had no time for a photo stop because we were near the end of our two-hour entrance window (time limit entrance pass) into the park.
The naive moi thought there would be plenty of glassy lakes inside the national park, but sadly not so, for all the lakes still partially, if not mostly, covered with ice.
OK, no sweat, we would just stop by Lake Estes the next morning to take my dream photos.
EXCEPT - there were absolutely no clouds in the sky, and it was a bit windy! 😥😥😥
So there you have it - I just gave you my best possible shot!

Whenever we travel to Southern California to visit family, we try to catch at least one sunset at Laguna Beach. This evening's sunset had a bit too many clouds, but still was beautiful.
Whenever I see the beauty of our landscapes it makes me realise that nothing mankind can do matches the splendour and might of nature. What a pity more of our politicians don't appreciate this.

Whenever it's possible I try to drink my morning coffee outside...is it garden or terrace or balcony. Today is a fantastic morning and I drink morning coffee in the garden.
My friends- Paddington and twin brothers Leopards have decided to have breakfast in the garden too. Paddington thinks the best thing for breakfast is a marmalade sandwich so he makes three.
Of course they chat and I overhear their conversation
Paddington:Do you know it is Easter approaching this weekend?
Leo 1 : Really? I have not read a paper yet
Leo 2: I remember last year's Easter! That was so exciting! We went out in the garden to find Easter Eggs
Paddington: Easter eggs is what we need.
Leo 1: Usually eggs come with Easter Bunny
Leo 2: We had Easter Bunny last year but unfortunately He emigrated
Paddington: Where to? Rwanda?
Leo2 : No no, He lives in Latvia now
Paddington; We cannot go to Latvia to get Easter Bunny, we have to find him somewhere nearby. Easter is around the corner! No Bunny no Easter eggs! Let me sort it out, Ilona is going out for a break today, I will slide into her handbag.
It looks like I will be involved in an adventure today

Whenever I am privileged to see a grizzly bear in the wild I am estactic. Such was the case on this day. Photo is not as pristine as I would like it to be as we were so far away but it was a joy to see her. Ranger said it is Grizzly #793 for those of you who follow the Teton bears.

Whenever there is a female in a band, I tend to gravitate towards taking photos of her but I would probably also be remiss if I didn't post one of Marlon Magnée of this band. He has a great stage presence and really does a good job of picking up keyboards, running around and playing them as if these were the last melodies heard on Earth (or perhaps a stranger planet.)
