Catherine Wheels
Crowded House
No night to stay in
Bad moon is rising again
Dice rolls
And you burn
Come down I fear
As that cold wheel turns
I know what I know
Sad Claude's been sleeping around
To stroke the right nerve
Whose needs do I serve
As Catherine's wheel turns
She was always the first to say gone
She's got her catherine wheels on
Always the first to say gone

Thank you very much for your comments and faves, regretfully, I am finding it increasingly difficult to reply to your comments, because of my very limited time on the internet, due to constant power interruptions in South Africa. I do read and appreciate every one of them, however! Thanks again!!
I met this little group in my park the other day. They are part of Wheels for Wellbeing (wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk/) that provides disabled people with mobility; the gent on the left had had a stroke. The young lady allowed me to have a go on hers & it was wonderful! I quite fancy one!

For the curious, a planimeter is an old method of calculating area on a drawing. There are two arms barely shown here on the lower right that are about 6" (150 mm) long. One has a sharp point that is stuck into the drawing board and the other has a rounded point that is traced around the shape to be measured. The beveled metal wheel will skid and turn as it was drug around the paper. The difference between the starting and ending readings shown on the wheels is proportional to the objects area. It was always good to do it a few times and see if you got a consistent answer. The reading shown is 1985.

I found this one in a back alley drafting shop in Seoul, Korea in 1970 and used it from time to time in my career until computer aided drafting eliminated the need.
ODC - My wheels.
My old bike, it had a bit of an adventure last year when it was stolen. Gra and I did some detective work, visited local bike shops leaving a photo of it, and sure enough "the thief" offered it for sale and the owner of the shop phoned us and the Police, I was so happy to get it back.
