9/5/20 Those who said it was a growth of a sweet potato were right! 👍 Those who mentioned a growth on a potato were very close, too! Thanks for the comments and have a great weekend! 🙋‍♀️

Make a guess and smile on Saturday. ;)

What is it? - A mineral water bottle (the middle part of it) on a dark reflecting underground (back-lit by sun) :)

Smile on Saturday theme: Enigma.

Sorry haven't had much time lately things are just insane around here. Cell phone shot. Have a good one and stay safe.

Smiles for Saturday. With a story that could make you smile. If you're a good guesser

Smile on Saturday ~ Enigma

Stay safe and well everyone.

Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. Any comments or Faves are very much appreciated

Bitte verwenden Sie keines meiner Fotos ohne meine schriftliche Zustimmung. Sie erreichen mich unter meiner emailadresse bei Flickr. Ich bin jeder Zeit ansprechbar, Danke.

What is this

There are three themes in my photo and yet only one is visible - the curves. But what is so curvy there?

It is a wooden hemisphere made of fine Swiss stone pine wood which can be sprinkled with scented oils, they provide a fresh fragrance in the room.

I wish you a happy new year 2020.

Please do not use any of my photos without my written permission. You can reach me under my email address at Flickr. I am available at any time, thanks.

Smile on Saturday

This could/should be a bit easier than #18!

Having said that, I am really looking forward to your interpretation of what this is!

Take a look and then take your best shot at what this is!

For some people this will be as easy as pie, others might have to phone a friend, or ask the family..... Good luck!

Your correct, wild, imaginative, out of the box and out of this world guesses are being looked forward to. 😁

Post as many guesses as you like!

As usual the answer will be posted in a few days' time. Enjoy!

For the Smile on Saturday challenge: "Enigma"

It is a macro, so think smaller! It is part of an everyday object that many of us rely on, maybe especially us photographers!

I've posted the object in the first comment field ;o)

This one could prove to be a bit of an enigma.

Some people will recognize this as they have some and/or use them.

Others might have seen some and know what it is.

Others might be completely mistaken about what it is........

Having said that, I am really looking forward to your interpretation of what this is!

Answer:

It is indeed the hole-plate for a meat grinder, or meat mincer. It is a kitchen appliance for fine chopping of, or mixing of raw or cooked meat, fish, vegetables or similar food.

Diameter of hole-plate: 61.7 mm

Diameter of holes: 2.9 mm

Thickness of plate: 6.1 mm

Uncropped 2:1 macro image.

Camera Sensor Size: 24 mm x 36 mm.

Area photographed: 12 mm x 18 mm.

Magnification Ratio: 2:1

Thanks for participating. I really enjoyed reading the answers!

Visit en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meat_grinder for a picture.

This is a 1.6:1 macro of something for you to look at and take a guess as to what it is....

I photographed this item more than once, but it simply didn't turn out to look like the picture I had in my mind.

So I tested it on unsuspecting family members and the success rate was 33 1/3%.

In any case, your correct, wild, out of the box and out of this world guesses are being looked forward to.
