I loved the light on this

There's always room in life for this
but it is mainly the outcome of the need we have felt for making democracy such a good thing, like a scrubbed and shining schoolboy. Actually democracy partakes of the sweat and blood of the real world. It is grimy and dangerous and will never survive until it can learn to understand the ways of bullies and take its own part. I happen to care for it not because of any moral perfection it may have, but because it is by and large the best instrument I know for giving us the kind of world we want to live in :-)

A short meeting and a talk about religion and beliefs, we parted ways and I'm still an atheist😊

Fumiaki Kawate created both interpretations: "Grampus", as shown above and also "Shachihoko", also shown in the first comment box.
I used a sheet of satogami-paper 35x35 to fold this origami "Grampus".
Final seize about 12cm tall and 12 cm width.

The place columnar igneous rock formations was discovered by tourists very few years ago.
The river has been the one with the most erosion powers in Iceland due to sand and rocks it has been moving from the origin north Vatnajökull glacier. Now the glacier melting water with the erosion powers has been taken away from the canyons below Kárahnjúkar Dam and most of the summer the river is almost clear water, and very much less water as well.
Then this place became much more ovious and more accessible.
These formations are to be found other places as well but these are amongst the largest and most complicated I know. The columnar are so high, they bend in ways I can mot imagine how the cooling powers have been working. One only get speechless and wonders, wonders, wonders

Autumn is in the air, in the trees, and on my mind. And like others, in their cameras by now. Trout Lake is only about 20 minutes away and unveils itself in different ways depending on the season. With the sun now lower in the sky, and winds barely present, the mirror-like surface can provide terrific reflections.
Fall colors also present themselves for view, while Lillie Pads suddenly appear. The shadow that split the scene nicely framed the two distinctly different elements. This too created depth and a polarizing filter both removed glare, and released those vivid colors.
In order to get this shot, it was necessary to prop up against a Birch tree that was leaning about 45 degrees toward the lake. There was nowhere to place my tripod and achieve the same shot, short of submersing it and settling for something different. For me, that is just not an option; be nice to your equipment.

Some tasty contrejour lighting catches Merseyrail class 508 unit 508114 rolling into Birkenhead Central with the 11.00am Chester - Chester (2C24) out and back service.
The finely carved wooden vertical slats decorating the platform awning look like they might just benefit from a bit of TLC. The station opened in 1886.
