130 feet of falling water! Panther Creek on the right with springs gushing out of the cliff on the left. Panther Creek is every photographer's friend! Not all of the waterfall is even in frame with another section of the creek falling further to the right.
We visited a waterfall today. The Henrhyd waterfall or Sgwd Henrhyd is the tallest waterfall in South Wales with a drop of 90 feet. You can also walk behind it.

The Goðafoss (waterfall of the gods) is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. It is located in the Bárðardalur district of North-Central Iceland at the beginning of the Sprengisandur highland road. The water of the river Skjálfandafljót falls from a height of 12m over a width of 30m.Goðafoss is closely connected with one of the most important event in Icelandic history, the conversion to Christianity from heathendom or “the old custom” in the year 1000.At that time Þorgeir Þorkelsson, chieftain from nearby Ljósavatn was law speaker in Iceland. As such he was faced with the task of settling the growing disputes between Christians and those who worshipped the old Nordic gods. Despite being a heathen priest himself, he decided that all of Iceland should be Christian, as is famously recorded in the Sagas. Legend has it that, once he returned back to Ljósavatn from this historic Alþingi, he dispensed of his heathen gods by throwing them into the falls in a symbolic act of the conversion. This, according to the legend, is how Goðafoss got its name.
My first effort at long exposures on water.
Lake Agnes spills into Mirror Lake and then on to Lake Louise. This waterfall is just below Lake Agnes. Man the water was cold. I was standing in the pool setting this up.
This 3 metre fall is at the end of a small ravine on Rowgill Burn about half a mile upstream of the point where the Burn is forded by the Maiden Way.
Number 2 in my "Cut Hill and Fur Tor from Postbridge" series. This walk sees much of the East Dart River, and it's a complete joy. Further upstream from this the river's meandering path is seen beautifully (I'll upload some photos from there soon). I approached the waterfall from the top of the hill at Broad Down, and even when close to, did not realise how impressive a sight it would be. Even with the continual sound of the crashing water this is still a wonderfully lonely spot.
