When you think you're alone in the woods...
Thanks for your visit and taking the time to comment so I can visit your photos, too... very much appreciated! My apologies if I cannot reply to all comments. Have a great day!
You are looking at a handwound 17-jewel pocket watch movement in a dead cheap "Polaris" pocket watch from the Yantai Watch & Clock Factory.
These watches were sold for the breathtaking amount of 75 CNY (equals about 10.40 EUR or 11.76 USD) as souvenirs at the Yantai Watch & Clock Museum.
Considering how much gunk is inside this movement, it is no wonder the watch is that cheap...

Hm.... I am not quite sure this is parrots or not to be honest... Took this shot from Adelaide Zoo, but I normally ignore the sign of the bird name.. hehe... :-P

~True friendship cannot be forged overnight. It has to be tested by time over and over again. Thank you for being my true friend and my only soulmate!
It’s hard to meet people in life who are willing to give everything without the hope of any return. I call myself lucky because I have someone like that in my life. It’s you!
You have always been there in my hard times and my heartbreaks. I thank god everyday for blessing me with such a true friend like you my sweet Beth♥~
"Between the eyes of love, I call your name.
Behind the guarded walls I used to go,
upon a summer wind, there's a certain melody.
Takes me back to the place that I know.
On the beach...
On the beach....
Yeah..."
He is just watching the time go by, it was a great afternoon and the sun was getting ready to start setting.

Much less processed than you might think, it was taken at twilight with available light. I was once again in a car in Manhattan waiting for the Holland Tunnel, and I looked up and saw this lone solitary visitor from who knows where, staring down on us from a second floor window, apparently keeping a silent but intense vigil, watching for who knows what.
Vas'ka the cat is watching the garden sitting on the refrigerator.
Better to see in bigger size!
Thank you all for visits, favs and comments, it's greatly appreciated!
I've been to the Merced National Wildlife Refuge at least four times. Each time I've photographed this scene at sunset, sometimes twice. It's a favorite of mine and of many photographers.

Australian Magpies are very vigilant birds, the see everything and miss very little. They keep watch on behalf of all the birds who visit my yard, They raise the alarm if there is danger, and sound the all clear when the danger is past. They have calls for strangers, cats and raptors; Magpies are the unsung local heroes, and truly beautiful birds. Here is a link to a video of a woman who Magpies seem to like, I hope some of you may enjoy it www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vn5sHpp3Ks
A pair of Rainbow Lorikeets watch from the top of an Acacia tree in my yard, they waiting for me to put out food, and when I do, they will be first to the table.
For "Looking close... on Friday!" and this week theme "Watch"
Have a great day and thank you for visiting!
Komm wir bring' die Welt zum Leuchten
Egal woher du kommst
Zu Hause ist da wo deine Freunde sind (Feel my mighty blow)
Hier ist die Liebe umsonst
Feel my mighty blow, let these clouds lay low
As I land with my feet on the ground and go go go
My destiny I need to know
Chasing dreams which way will the wind blow?
Watching days but I can’t let go
Just want to watch your kingdom grow
No one thing as I run up rainbows
My pain grows, only the insane know
How to dance on the moon as the wolf cry moans
In the middle of the darkness I found my zone
You, my love, are never alone
Even when you’re so very far away from home
Sag mir, wie lange wir noch hier stehen
Bis wir endlich so weit sind, dass wir uns in die Augen sehen
Zeig mir, dass es anders geht
Lass uns zusammen singen bis uns die Welt zu Füßen liegt
I was sitting in my car watching a ship go through The Heads into Bass Strait when this Silver Gull landed on my car.
It was too windy to get out to take photos, so I was quite pleased when he/she landed and I got this photo :-))
Many thanks for your visits, kind comments and faves, very much appreciated.
It’s been a while since I shared a photo from my Sabi Sands safari, so thought why not post one of its most magnificent residents — the leopard.
This young cub was perched high in a tree, curiously watching us as we watched him. I can only imagine what he thought of the rapid-fire click of all those camera shutters! The more sensible among us (if I can ever be called that 😉) had our cameras set to silent mode.
It was fascinating watching his mother teach him the essentials of leopard life — how to wrestle, eat, and nap — all safely from the branches above, far from hyenas, photographers, and other distractions. I have such wonderful memories of these extraordinary animals. Nature at her finest.
Today's fun fact: That lovely smell of freshly cut grass? It's actually the grass releasing distress signals! The scent comes from green leaf volatiles — compounds plants emit when damaged, to warn nearby plants, deter grazers, & attract helpful insects.
So maybe I’m not lazy after all — I’m just being considerate by not mowing too often 😉
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. Thanks for taking a look, I really appreciate your comments and support.
