I got up this morning and found the garden bathed in sunlight! It all looks so lovely - full of colour! I have done almost no gardening so far this year, and it looks better for it - though I suspect I will pay for it later!
One from my archives taken at Gessert's Guesthouse in Keetmanshoop, in the south of Namibia.
It had a lovely garden….

Have a great day, everyone! 😊
When you walk the Dubrovnik wall, you are regularly presented with views of this nature. Little snippets of the old town and beyond are presented to you in a beautiful stone framework.
Harbour wall in Lamberts Bay, fortified with giant concrete structures called "dolosse". The Atlantic Ocean can be quite rough at times…
Happy Wednesday, everyone!
Before I built a wall I’d ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offense.
Something there is that doesn’t love a wall,
That wants it down. - Robert Frost's Mending Wall

A little online research reveals that there are four types of lizard to be found on the isle of Sicily. Two, the Sicilian wall Lizard and the Italian wall lizard are very similar in appearance. As far as I can tell this example which was photographed at the wonderful Vendacari Nature Reserve is an Italian Wall Lizard. It's size for one thing, having a body (not including the tail) of around six inches was the most obvious factor in my decision process.
From what I have read, this species has been introduced widely in other countries ands has become an unwanted pest. It breeds quickly and outcompetes other local wildlife.

In Santa Maria dell'Anima.
The church was originally founded in 1350 as a hospice, and in 1386 the church (then 'Beatae Mariae Animarum' (Saint Mary of the Souls)) was erected. The founders were Jan and Katharina Peters of Dordrecht - Dordrecht is a town in what was to become the Netherlands. In the 14th century it was turned into a hostel for pilgrims from all of the Holy Roman Empire. Today the church is one of three national churches of Germany in Rome.
The current church, a hall church of typical North European design, was completed in 1522.
